Default Modification for Tall Drivers

I'm 6'5" and looking to purchase a C7 Coupe. I have Seat tested and driven several and have TWO (2) questions;:

#1 - How thick is the stock touring seat foam towards the rear of the seat and can it be shaved done to create more headroom? OR Is there an aftermarket seat that is substantially lower?

#2 - Can the Gas & Brake pedals be moved further forward towads the firewall?

Any help here is greatly appreciated!

I hear you. I am 6-ft-3 and my legs have barely enough room and that is with three pedals.

Check out this video for mounts to lower your seat.

You can disconnect the wire that limits seat back travel and gain some room
I posted pics and procedure maybe do a search
the wire is behind the driver seat back under the carpet….easy…gave me just about enough additional room

Good luck getting the seat to a position that is comfortable to you.

6’4” 220 with a 36” inseam. Leg vs torso length is important. I have competition seats and fit just fine without any mods. My brother who is the same height but 2” more in his torso hits his head.

Is there any room to slide entire mounting blacket backward a few inches?

I'm 6'6, I have a vert for this reason really, but I have to bring the seat forward and lay further back

I am 6'1.5(ish), and I pretty much lounge in the car.

I have my seat at full tilt so my legs are at a slight bend, but the only way I can get my torso under the roof is to have the seat back 90 degrees to the tilt (so basically the whole seat is "laying" on the rear base to seat back pivot). I think it's like 20 degrees off the base, but I've never measured it. It is what it is, the car is designed for someone 5'10" I think.

It effectively looks like this in side profile because the back of the corvette seat doesn't tilt up and stays flat. The lean might be a bit more extreme but you get the idea.

Also look into thinning the seat back foam for more legroom. I have thinned the top of my seat back to get more of a wrap around feeling for my shoulders.

Thanks to all who have chipped in thus far.
SO!
I have played with the seat moving it forward, all the way down, then back. This works well for legroom with the exception of Gas Pedal location. Has anyone ever relocated the pedal closer towards the firewall to increase leg space for right leg?
NEXT!
The comment on Torso Length is definitely an issue. At 6'5" with a 36" Inseam, I have a longer Torso. With that said, and I appreciate the comment on shaving the back of the seat, has anyone ever shaved down the bottom of the seat? And if so, how much extra headroom was achieved?
Thanks again on behalf of all of us Tall Fellas

I can’t speak for “ has anyone ever relocated the pedal closer towards the firewall “, however, that idea may be possible. When installing the Soler throttle controller, you can remove the entire pedal by taking out one bolt. Since its throttle by wire, there is no linkage to be concerned with. It may be possible to move that mounting hole forward and get a little extra room. Hard to tell for sure without looking at the car. Not sure how much real estate is there before the floor starts to go vertical. Might be worth a closer look. Never say never.😎

If you can find one of those old time electric carving knives they work really well for cutting foam. You may remember they had two blades right next to each other that slid back and forth.
