What is this and do I need it? It’s just forward of the mufflers on the first cross member.
its made of plastic

The transmission cooler? I didn’t realize it had one.Its a 2018 stingray 3lt base. Guess I’ll leave it on thank you for your reply.

Must be a convertible. First time I have seen that part since I do not have a convertible.

Yep. I annotated the OPs pic with an arrow Btw....the arrow is not representative of the actual direction of airflow. It just points to what part is getting a little added air.

Interestingly shaped. Looks like it would create a low pressure area that should pull in some air. It also looks like it might help keep debris from hitting the cooler.

yes, I have since lifted one side and noticed that it seems to protect the cooling fins more then aid in cooling, or maybe does both.
i was more concerned about fitting some jacks in that space and now i see I can.

They don't have functional vents on top of the rear quarter panels like the coupes.
