Both of these are on Amazon:
Both of these are on Amazon. Is the difference for Carbon Flash Metallic that big or are the gloss black less expensive ones not legit?
Check the quality yourself. There are many very expensive ones from the super duper sellers. Then there are the ones that they purchase and sell them to you.
My Stingray emblem.
Hmmm. I have brand new chrome package cross flag emblems (front & rear) in GM packaging from a Chevrolet dealer. No "blue" tab. The tab and peel-off are clear.
GM #84658776 & GM #84658772.
For whatever reason - the cross flag emblems were more expensive than the other emblems. Which made no sense to me.
I have that bottom set on my car, replaced the chrome when I murdered it out. I've had them for two years and they have held up well. I chose to leave off the "corvette" lettering and stingray badges tho and placed just the crossed flags because I like the clean lines of the car without all the gewgaw. Went on easy-peasy.

Yep. I have a chip on my shoulder. Some would say that a 1968 C3 Corvette isn't a Stingray, so I put STINGRAY on the side of it. I liked it so much I did the same with my C7. It can be reversed in about 30 minutes.
I bought the Amazon set, but decided not to use them. You get what you pay for. I don't know what I was expecting. It just doesn't feel right putting these on an expensive car.
Absolutely agree. Why pay over $400 for these? That’s a lot to spend when there are less expensive options. You won’t get $400 for the chrome ones you remove for these new ones.
Hey kodpkd,
You are correct, the 1968 was a Sting Ray (two words, not one word, not yet anyway). Says so right there in the 1968 brochure! They just didn't put a Stingray/Sting Ray emblem on the car.
Yes, I have researched this issue. What I found out is they didn't have the emblem finished for the first production run so they just left it off. I haven't found any info on how it got from Sting Ray to Stingray. But we will get the group that still say the 68 isn't a Sting Ray or Stingray, how ever you say the word. If Chevrolet called it a Sting Ray, that's good enough for me.
