If you replaced your C7 headlight with either a new headlight, used headlight or aftermarket headlight were there any special procedures that needed to be done to make it work properly, I'm reading one of the modules needs to be initialized or programmed?
Second question, if you replaced a headlight were you able to transfer the two modules attached to the headlight without any issues?
Lastly, what is the initialization process or "Special Procedure" mentioned in the GM parts description?
One of my headlights got damaged by road debris. Something hit it hard, broke the support tabs and cracked the lens casing. Dealer charged me $1600 to replace the entire light unit plus $700 in labor. I know i got screwed in this deal, It looks like plug and play though, only hassle is that you need to remove the front bumper. Morons at the dealer forgot to adjust the light beam afterwards. Luckily thats an easy fix. Just need a screw driver and a garage door to shine the lights at night.
I did mine a couple of times. It's a job that can be done, but you have to take the entire nose off the car. I tried after market ones and didn't like them, I tried a used one and got screwed by the seller, it was broken, I then purchased a oem used one and it is still fine. Call

I installed a set of Morimoto C8 style headlights on my car. Really a straight forward procedure. Just followed install instructions are provided by the vendor and manufacturer. Taking off/reinstalling the front fascia was the time consuming part of the job. Did not have to program anything - just had to choose how I wanted the lights to function which involved connecting the appropriate module on the lights.
Anyone tried the Morimoto C7 XB LED headlights? Are they really plug and play?
The Gen 2 are plug-n-play. You plug in one of the provided modules that programs it to act as you like. You just have to align them afterwards.
EDIT: Vette Lights was the cheapest I could find at the time. They are present on this forum. I would contact them directly as they may give you a price less than other can advertise.

I'm really thinking about getting those. I like the option of having amber DRL. Now that I have experience taking the front of the car off for a grille replacement, it doesn't seem like a daunting task.
For others: Morimoto - Prices are due to rise on Friday (reprieve of one week from last Friday) by about 15-17%. This is key, if you are on the fence, do not wait til Black Friday, the discount will not overcome the rise in prices.
We continue to build out Morimoto to color match. Now is the best time to do it through www.umnitza.com - or reach out to me directly.
That's crazy. Almost $2k after taxes for a pair of headlights. I am turned off on them now, no pun intended. I get what OEM replacements cost. If mine were broken, I would definitely consider it, but it makes it hard to justify as a fun upgrade especially if one isn't willing to buy before the price hike.

Everyone said that with the first 3 or 4 price increases, but unfortunately all prices have gone up everywhere. The value here is 5 year warranty + you can still sell off yours for $300 or so a side.
