Vetters... I'm looking at adding to my C7 collection. I'm not a track guy but have 2 cars I'm deciding between and looking for input.
Both are 2016's. 1 is a 1LT Z51 and the other is a 2LT base. Mileages are both around 15K, and prices are nearly identical in the upper $30's. Any thoughts on Z51 versus 2LT? As I said, not intending to use for track, just a for the driving experience. I have a '15 Z51 now. All else equal, it this just a personal preference or it there a distinct advantage between the two?
Why do you want to upgrade? Is your '15 a 1LT or 2LT?
I'm not upgrading, I'm adding. My '15 is a 1LT Z51. I don't see see a huge benefit to the 2LT, don't really care about the sound system, I have tailpipes for that. I kind of like the performance features on the Z51... Just curious if they should be priced the same...

For me, the 2LT package would be the more desirable car - I like the heated/ventilated seats and the HUD especially. But, from your response in post #5 it seems you would be happier with the Z51 car. Do what your gut tells you is the right car for your driving needs.
So you have a 15' Z-51 now and thinking of buying a 16' Z-51? Is there any logic to that?
It is not necessarily about logic but more about what makes you feel good, especially when you drive a red Corvette to work one day and then a silver Corvette to work the next day. And you park in the same spot each time. Coworkers start to notice. Some say: No way he has two Corvettes. If one Corvette is dirty, then drive the other. The only bad thing is paying insurance on two Corvettes, along with personal property taxes.

That's absurd. You want to be known as a classy guy at work wear Brioni suits and Rolex watches.
My wife has used her 16 2LT Z51 as a daily driver from day one. Only just turned 90k on our trip to Texas. For your purposes I'd go with the 2LT. I got the Z51 for the more cooling for our long trips. For DD the 2LT will suffice.
If I was looking to add a 7th vehicle to my collection as a 'daily driver' I'd pick something entirely different from what I already had. Like an Ioniq 5 N.
That being said,if I were forced to pick between the z51 and 2lt for a daily I'd pick the 2LT, mainly to get the heated/cooled seats, softer suspension and lower maintenance costs (oil, brakes, tires).

I agree with this sentiment. You already have a C7 so why not just daily it? If you must have another C7 I would personally find a Z51 2LT and get the best of both worlds. You already have a 1LT Z51 and you said you like the Z51 option, so why go with the same exact car but one year newer? Clearly you have money to buy another C7 so get something that isn't what you already have.
Well mine is a 2LT Z51, as my daily driver having the 2LT was important to me.
I don't track my car so having a Z51 is overkill, but I bought it used so it being a Z51 was almost incidental because I like everything about it and the price was right.

Completely different. Z51 is an performance option. 1LT, 2LT and 3LT are trim levels with 1 being basic not including memory option, not including heated and ventilated seats, no HUD, and other trim Stuff, then LT2 which includes those mentioned items and more then top line LT3 Trim package. For example mine is a Stingray, wirh Z51 performance package option and LT3 Trim Package.
