A dealer ??…if you can’t do it any repair shop can…the dealer will tell you that the cables will need replacement…I replaced both of my battery terminals with copper lugs using a hydraulic crimper.
I was able to strip the existing wire and crimp a new connector. I was over thinking this. New battery works fine. Only issue now is the tire psi is not reading. Not sure what I need to do for that to read the psi. Don't remember that as an issue last battery change.
I reused the old lug, uncrimped it, stripped the wire, re-crimped the lug onto the wire, soldered the lug/wire using very little solder, added stiff heat shrink tubing with sealant,
I inadvertently broke the ground wire for the neg connection of the battery. Any thoughts on if its a DIY job or do I need to have dealer do? Thanks.
I soldered a 6 inch piece of wire to the existing broken wire and back on to the O ring connector. This also creates a little extra slack to eliminate the risk of breaking it again.

When this happened to my brand-new 15 Z06, I started getting charge system error messages, so I took it to the dealer. The mechanic found the broken wire and fixed the problem the same way. In over nine years, the problem hasn't reoccurred.
