Default C7 Horn

Hey, does anyone else on here think that the C7 horn is weak? If so, what did you do about it?

I think the better question is how loud the thing is when you are outside. Your phone should have a decibel meter app. Use that to get an idea how loud it is in an empty parking lot. Compare it to another car that is loud enough for you and you should know for sure. After all, who cares what I think of the horn in the driver's seat? It is meant more for the other guy to hear.

Don't know the exact loudness level of the C7 horn, but IMO, it is plenty loud to get someone's attention.

Couple years back, a lady next lane suddenly turned in to my lane right next me. I honked strong and she noticed. C7 horn is good enough for me

It has horns? I figured just another electronic geegaw like the on-again/off-again turn-signal sound.

Looks like a bit of non-constructive criticism in the responses. If you don't have anything nice to say......

Thanks, aklim. I checked both my C5 and my C7 with a jezebel meter. C7 registers in at 87 / 88. C5 registered 86. C5 sounds two-tone like many others. That is quite normal. C7 sounds single-tone and a bit higher pitch to me. I like the horn in my Lexus, better than the sound of these two.

Maybe the sound-deadening material in the C7 Z06 is so superior that it drowns out a lot of the sound of the horn when listeningfrominsidethe cabin. To me, it doesn't sound very loud from inside the car.

I said Decibel not Jezebel. One measures the sound intensity. The other measures how likely the person is to do naughty things. One exists. The other, if I had it, I'd be scanning all the girls to see which was naughty.

I'm guessing that is the case. That and where the horn is located. I personally don't need to hear the horn so I prefer it to be silent in the cabin and able to make Grandma wet her pants when I hit the horn. So, if the meter confirms it is about right, I'm going to leave it alone before something bad happens and you get air horns in the car.

Yep, I thought the horn was weak. After driving Italian cars for years I missed the air horn. I fitted a 3 horn Fiamm air horn in the left front fender where the original horn was located. The power feed carried it just fine.

Yeah, that's what I initially thought. And someone wrote something to the effect: What do I care what the horn sounds like? Just an extra gadget." Well I care and maybe they would too if someone was veering into their lane directly in front of them; poised to collide with their car. In such a case, a train-style horn would be in order as far as I 'm concerned.

A link for the horn you sourced, if online?
