Default C7 Interior Room for a pet?

C8 owner but having a look at C7s. If there is a passenger in the passenger seat how well would the area behind the seats accomodate a small pet carrier? It seems like there is plenty of room, but wondering about interior temps and any tie downs/partitions to prevent the carrier from sliding around. In the C8 it takes up the passenger seat but could be in the lap if there is a passenger.

Just wondering if this seems like a reasonable option or not based on your experiences. If you have had a C6, are those better or worse?

definitely enough room for a carrier like the one pictured. any bigger and you may run into some issues. if the carrier is stiff enough you could loop some bungie cords through and hook to the tie-down loops in the back. temps wouldn't be much different than cabin temperatures. im in dc if you already have the carrier and want to test fit it in person.

Plenty of room. I had my cat in a larger cage one. Fit fine.

Plenty of room! I am a bass player and I easily can fit all my gear in the back. One of the main reasons I am staying in a C7!!

Thanks! Seems very doable. Planning a career change and graduate school next year, so assessing options to still be in a Vette but without a payment.

Having no payment is a nice thing!! My 2019 GS is completely paid for, another reason I am in no hurry to get into a C8!

My 55 pound dog loves coming out in my C7...although I buckle his harness into the passenger seat. As others have said there is plenty of room in the hatch and the C7's HVAC system works very well to control temperature.

Unless the carriers rather large, you’ll have plenty of room in the back of a C7.

If your picture is any indication, as noted no problem. Maybe a bigger feline though...

I made a latched blanket to cover the back area and my 124lb dog rides back there without issue.

This one really watches its weight, only gained one pound in the past 2 years

Wow that's impressive, I previously had a big Doberman and never thought that would've been possible/comfortable even if theoretically possible

Here is the Florida Inferno, it get way too hot for Binky. The rear glass makes it like an oven. The AC just does not make it back there. So I installed a dual car fan for him and wired it up so I can control it from the front dash. No more panting for the Bink!

The C7 luggage shade has two pieces. If you install just the horizontal piece, it makes a nice little "cave" for your pet to hide out in. They can see out somewhat and are partially protected from the sun. A retention harness is safer for them and you.
Our 45 lb Labrador and daughter's 15 lb mini-mutt both loved it, though not at the same time.

Get a roll of the rubber no slid drawer liner stuff and cut a piece to fit up against that bolster at the front of the trunk area.

My full time service dog rides quite comfortably in the hatch. 110lbs German Sheppard. It has his dog bed etc... We just made a 24 hour trip from California to Texas with zero issues. The center console has a cover and the plastic piece that butts up to the back has a stick on decal cover that keeps him from scratching anything
