I got a good job at a manufacturing plant. At the time, I was restoring a C4 Roadster for an NCRS Top Flight Award.
Obviously, I did not want to take my Vette to a parting lot with hundreds of cars.
I got a Honda Fit, with a clean Carfax at the Stealership. A couple of weeks later, I was detailing it.
I got to the tail gate and felt a 10" rough spot. The paint looked good from a few feet away.
I called AAA and they told me to take it down to Tony' Auto Body. They looked at it on the lift and it had accident damage. The Stealership accused us of having an accident. It went down from there.
I also got another car that a dealer said had a clean Carfax. Later on, another dealer told me it had been repaired.
This time, when I bought my C7 at Carmax, I had the dealer put it on the rack, and the body shop checked it out. It was not molested.
