Over the last week I have twice taken a freeway entrance ramp that was a fairly tight turn and I was accelerating through the turn pretty aggressively. I noticed a significant shudder and not sure if it is engine, transmission or just wheel skip/hop. I have a 2015 stingray A8 and I was in manual mode. I do have fairly new Continental DWS06 all season tires on the car that I put on last summer and probably have less than 2k miles on them. I never get the shudder during normal straight-line acceleration which is usually even more aggressive than what I was doing on the on ramp. It was very noticeable and my wife even asked "what was that?". No codes thrown and after getting out of the turn the acceleration was normal. Any thoughts on what this is or how to further diagnose? I am the 2nd owner and the car has just over 31K total miles and I bought it 2 years ago with 24K miles. I don't believe the triple flush has been done and I haven't noticed any issues with the transmission and I almost always drive it in manual mode.
The A8 only has the Shutter issue in the Auto mode. In the Manual mode using the paddles you don't experience the shutter . I have had my 2015 for 3 years now and had the shutter in Auto mode, but never in the M mode and I drove it in manual almost 100% of the time until just recently I had the flush done.
How tight? There is a 90 degree turn here by my house (picture below) where its every so slightly off camber (you crest a small hump mid turn). If I take it AGGRESSIVE and try to power slide around the corner (with stability control on it always will catch it), I can get pretty bad "chatter" from the braking and the wheel hop. Sometimes you think the drive train is going to drop out. But its fine. It's mostly caused by the stability control oscillating the brake pressure to catch the car while your trying to stuff torque down and at the same time getting a little wheel hop. If I do it hyper aggressive enough it will de-rate (cut) power a little when I try to straight line accelerate after completing the turn.
