Jack Stands

Today I used my new low profile jack, pucks and new air gun to remove all 4 wheels (one at a time), clean calipers and rotisserie on the wheels, and swap the brembo pads for power stop z26 all the way around. I got all the pin punches etc that I read were needed. The dust has had me going crazy! Took me about 2 hours thanks to how to videos from some of you all. Easy to do!
I jacked one corner at a time high enough to get the wheel off, chocking the opposite corner. No issues. I felt like my 9.5" stands were still too tall to slide under the front crossmember, making me jack the front corners far higher than I needed. I was able to get it under the rear when at a comfortable just off the ground height. I just left the jack in place but wanted to have a second point of contact while I cleaned the wheels and did the pads. Seemed like the right thing to do. Is that okay to do one corner at a time and supplement as I work with a stand under the middle crossmember?
I cannot find any jack stands that go lower than about 9". Maybe I am crazy but some 7" would be nice. I guess I will have to lift her higher next time and stop being so " careful"?
I am not usually one to work on my own cars, but this job was easy as heck, and quite fun. Beats $400 labor at the dealer. Torqued wheels and went for a ride to seat the pads. They feel great! I actually like the tiny bit less bite on the street. The stock pads were insane and kind of jerky. Praying they are cleaner!
If anyone knows of a lower jack stand please let me know. If I am just being a sissy and need to bring the front a little higher than I will. I am never under the car so the jack should be enough, but if it fails, I am sure I will damage the caliper and rotor.
