I have a need for a little advice from those who have a treated garage floor. I am having my garage floor treated with a Polyaspartic coating. What do you use to keep the tires from discoloring the floor from the plasticizers in the rubber?
I had a polyaspartic floor installed in my garage at a former home and it never discolored from anything over the 5+ years I was there. It really lived up to the hype. Is your concern based on something the installer said?
I have a polyaspartic floor with a blue tint and bit of textured grit and don't have any issue with discoloration from tires. If you're worried, I'd cut a few small squares of carpet to put under the tires. I keep a few small squares of plywood to put under jackstands to keep them from digging into the coating. That's the only preventative precaution I take with mine. Mop it every once in a while or after I get some oily fluids on it. Brake cleaner doesn't seem to hurt it.

This.
I had my garage floors done this past December. I live on a dirt road and the cars track sand/mud in during the wet spring months, and snow/ice during the winter months. Other than using a wet floor mop from time to time, the floor looks brand new with no stains or discoloration. Hell, I even spilled about 2 quarts of transmission fluid on it changing the manual trans fluid in my Z06 and it wiped up easily, with no trace of any spill.
Just adding my 2¢... had mine polyaspartic floor laid in almost 6 years ago... not a single issue... (just don't drop small hardware because it's very difficult to spot).
Dirty in the picture... but I did put PVC trim in for the wall to floor joins and caulked it all so I can spray it out... just too lazy do it lately. Garage Landscape
