Default New tires..

I have a 2016 3LT and when I got the car in 2022, it had 1 year old tires on it, the Pilot Sport 4S ZP OEM ones, with only 16k miles on the car, I'm guessing they were replaced under warranty. Or the previous owner spent the money for them.

In Phoenix there was a massive storm my first week of owning it and a pothole was washed away in the road by my work. Got a big bubble on it from it. Ugh. Got two new rear tires and got the 4S to match both sides.

I am looking to replace all 4 now. Is it worth the money to do the Pilot 4S or go with the pilot sport all season 4? Here in Phoenix, there is no seasons. So same tires year round. This is my daily driver (about 90 miles a day for round trip work to home)

If you do autocross, track time, or just plain hard driving on twisty roads, the 4S would be the better and safer tire.
If you don't do that kind of intense driving, then you don't need the extra .1G (my guess) of cornering the 4S will provide. The A/S tires will also be slightly cheaper to buy, slightly quieter and smoother, and will last about 50% longer so the cost per mile will be noticeably less. The A/S will also have more grip in cooler temps, I estimate that anything below 50'F the A/S will have more grip.
I would definitely go with the ZP (runflat) version of whichever you choose..

My 2017 original Pilot Super Sport tires lasted about 16K miles on my daily driver before showing threads. My A/S 3 tires are nearing replacement with 32K miles on them. So my A/S tires have lasted twice as long, not 50% longer, than the Pilot Sports.

Thank you all for the tips! This is a daily driver and so most miles are freeway miles almost 100 per day. So I think I'll go with the A/S. But I don't see a ZP version available from Discount or Costco . I love the sticky was of the 4S OEM ones, but damn, the tread is gone way too fast! And I don't track much, or haven't in a long time. So I think I'll find the A/S

TireRack has them. Most tire shops will match their price if asked.

The OEM tires on your car would have been Michelin Pilot Super Sport runflats, which we often abbreviate as PSS ZP.
AFAIK, the 4S is not available (in Stingray sizes) as a runflat.
Currently, I can only see the PSS and AS4 as runflats in Stingray sizes.
But for your use, the Michelin A/S ZP is probably the best choice.

Whoever creates the names for Michelins should soundly thrashed.

I have the Michelin A/S 3+ ZP tires in my car now and love them. When I have to replace them, I will once again go with A/S runflats.

Since it's your DD, whichever tire you end up getting, be sure to have someone put a street friendly alignment on it. Your alignment shop of choice will need to be able to set the rear caster. That has to me done manually, with the correct tools, and cannot be done by the machine. You will probably end up at a Chevy dealership. Tell them what you are looking for and they should be able to fix you up.
