First Time Drag Racing

We arrived early before the crowds to get familiar with the facility and get a few runs in. It was 85* and sunny.
My goals were:
1. not hit the wall
2. not hit the other car
(sort of kidding about these two)
3. not embarrass myself
4. have a good RT
I did no prep to the Grand Sport. It is stock. I’m running Michelin AS4 tires at 30psi and I had a nearly full tank of gas. I did not use launch control. I drove around the water box and did not do a burn out.
I got five runs in and I used Tour, Sport, Track, and Track|Sport1 modes. There really wasn’t much of a difference between runs in the different modes.
RT range was .172 - .438
60’ range was 1.975 – 2.086
ET range was 12.512 - 12.649
MPH range was 112.31 - 110.48
Anyway I was pretty excited that I didn’t break anything or cause any problems and my times were relatively consistent.
This was a blast. I may have to do this again. I would encourage you to give it a try if you’ve never done it. Do your homework by reading info and watching videos on drag racing. It’s much better to go with someone else too.
Afterwards my wife asked if we still have any tread left on the tires
I’m car 1003 (1002 was a C8 Eray, while 1004 was a C7 Z06).
Here’s the PDR from my last run where you can watch the Eray spank me

With a little better launch and around here (Maryland) during the fall that's probably a high 11 maybe even mid 11s.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

Here is my video from a few years back, stock 2019 GS. FWIW I only took it out once as I have a 9.0 second tube chassis Challenger at the time (now sold) and a low 10 second Plymouth Road Runner I have been running for 20+ years so didn't want to beat up the GS.....LOL
