I recently traded into a 2016 C7, it's a beautiful car and drives great. The problem I have is with a clear top in NE Florida it gets too hot, it's like being in an oven. Has anyone else had the issue and what did you do about it? Even with my A/C cranked up I had sweat in my eyes yesterday afternoon.
The GS I just bought also has the transparent top and I live in AZ. The car is still in the enclosed trailer and on its way to me. I was thinking I would need a shade for it and saw some for sale on Amazon. Not sure how they work.
You will defiantly need a cover for that top, I live in NC & the clear top is great in winter, but way too hot in summer, thankfully my car came with both tops. good luck looking for a option, seems many aftermarket covers for the top.
I am in AZ and I have the carbon fiber top and it was too hot to the touch for me to remove it. Like ridiculously hot. Had to pull into a garage, let the car cool down and then remove it. I want to see if all of the creaks and moans stop with the top removed. Will report back later.
The headliner w/suction cups works wonders and makes it bearable in the heat. Top will still be too hot to remove if it's been sitting in the sun. I bring a pair of gloves to put on if I need to remove it.
I tried the liner with suction cups and It didn't work well for me. We made a couple trips to Vegas and when it got hot the liner sagged and looked terrible. We finally bought some dot matrix film and installed it. Bingo! Works like a champ keeping heat out and fluid in your brain from bubbling. Still able to see through it. We leave it in year around. https://www.corvettecentral.com/c7-1...hMM2vYl1wJvMtD

Looks like a good option, think I'll order one. Thanks for posting that.
I don’t have a coupe but I recently had all my windows on my pickup tinted with tint claiming to have 96% heat reduction. Now I don’t know if it really is 96% but it does reduce the heat quite considerably. The tint on the windshield does not provide very much darkness but the heat reduction is very noticeable.
I added a pre-cut film to block the sun. It works well, but isn't quite perectly fit so there's a ~ 1mm gap all the way around which is a little annoying.
I like the looks of the liner with the suction cups, but heat will make them lose their grip. So, I added a few splotches of Velcro to the mix and it holds very well. i also repress the liner occasionally to renew the grip on any loose suction cup.
My car came with the clear roof and I was never all that thrilled with it. Looked good, but too much sun in the Texas heat.
About a month ago I bought a used carbon fiber roof. A lot cheaper than a new one, but still not cheap. I love it.
Yeah, I think that one came from a black car because I believe the painted strip on the side is usually body color. This one matches the A-pillar though, and that seems to work better, to me, than matching the strip of white coming up the back.

If I had known about that, I probably would have tried it. I had read mixed reviews of the suction-cup liners and people said you couldn't use regular window tint because of the curves.
I have this one from Amazon and it is great. I slide it under my rear mat when not in use so its always with me. We were recently in KY in up to 100 degree heat and it was in for a week and made a huge difference. I would buy it again!
