I was on a backroad cruise in my Stingray in the middle of the day and I encountered one of these in a blind curve:
I had to react instantly and I pulled off the road within inches of a deep ditch. The operator of the spraying machine swerved and his right side tires went into the ditch. He nearly mowed down a mailbox. I wish the farmer had employed someone to ride ahead in a pickup truck with a wide load banner across the front.
In 2024, I was in my Stingray on the way to work and a Ram truck driver decided to pass two tractor trailers simultaneously in a NO PASSING zone. The three trucks were coming toward me from the opposite direction. The Ram driver would not have made it around the tractor trailers if I had not hit the brakes and pulled completely off the road.
I love seeing farm equipment moving around. Farmers are Americas backbone. Having to slide over for some equipment is just a regular thing, nothing to write home about.

That is not the actual farm vehicle. I did not have time to take a picture of the actual farm vehicle. I pulled that photo off of the internet. But I was probably going no more than 30 mph because the road has a few potholes after that spot where the encounter occurred.

The last time I saw one of those was about a year ago at a wedding we went to in Malvern IA.
It was going through town at a pretty good clip and being chased by a cop! I had to pull over to make room. Would still love to know what that was all about..

Happened to me just a couple days ago. Morons.

This is pretty common where we ride, in the Driftless area of WIsconsin it happens frequently. Comes down to not overdriving vision and skills in the corners.
A few weeks ago (on motorbikes) we did run into a case where a farmer was blocking the other side of the curve but he put a smoking idiot ahead of the curve to flag down traffic (i.e. us). The idiot stood there and watched me go, then did some sort of chest level glad hands when the second guy came, and walked onto the road in front of our third guy. Third guy panicked, lost his line, skidding on the gravel (because WI has gravel shoulders there's gravel in the middle of nearly all corners because farmers seem to be incapable of keeping their pickups within the lines) and took a new line through a cornfield then up the next berm and jumped over a road and landed in a marsh. The farmer profusely apologized and the smoking idiot was nowhere to be seen.

LOL yeah horse exhaust can be an issue too ;-)
That is wild. Your word picture looks like one of those motorcycle Reels on Facebook. Hopefully no one was hurt.
Cool story, There is farm equipment all around where i live and i never had an issue. Having farmed back in the day with my family i will say dealing with the general public while operating that equipment is a PITA. No one knows how to drive nor pass you when its free and clear.

I grew up on a farm. Fortunately, it was a beef cattle operation and we did not have to put equipment on public roads. Now i live where row crops are the big thing and some big farmers have farms in 17 counties and they drive giant machines on public roads from county to county. I do not fault them for that. But oversized farm machines should follow a vehicle that warns a wide load is approaching while on curvy back roads. I think state law requires that.

It is downright painful moving equipment around the public. You're either gonna get rear ended, hit head on, or someone will decide to ride up your *** and not pass you despite the road being crystal clear.
