Default Front Splitter Install Troubles

Hey guys, new to the corvette world and got a 2016 c7z06 a few weeks ago and just bought a front splitter from extreme online and just got down to install it and it appears someone had a splitter previously on there with the holes drilled out much larger than what EOS sent me with the splitter I purchased. What are my options to move forward? The most outside holes on both sides are also ripped out with nothing to drill into. Several other holes drilled in between the holes that line up with the splitters pre drilled holes. Any input or advice is appreciated.

thanks

I went through something similar when I switched from a stock "poverty" splitter to a stage 2 from EOS. I just drilled new holes and used a combination of rivets and Tek screws along with double-sided 3M tape.

good to know, thank you, that’s probably why what I’ll do. What did you do with no spot to fasten both outsides, Just get as far down the splitter as possible?

I don't quite understand your question. Can you show me with a picture of the place you're referring to?

You're getting a hint of what it's often like having a splitter... an accident waiting to happen in the real-world. I'd send the one back you bought and drive-on!

I have heard that quite a bit now lol

these are pictures of the furthest left and furthest right where the screw holes on the very outside of the edge of the car line up to. The two that are almost outside the front wheels. There is no where to redrill because it gets so thin at the end. Thanks for the help

You could get a sheet of ABS. Cut two squares to cover each hole. Attach them with screws or screws and nylock nuts in addition to double sided tape. You then would have an anchor point for each end. Also, if you put the 'patches' on the top side, you would be sandwiching the the existing plastic between the 'patch' and the new splitter for an even more secure attachment point.

My grand sport looked exactly like yours does underneath. When I went to put a splitter on, I didn’t know what the hell I was gonna do. I had no idea if any holes were going to lineup (which none did) so I tapped all new holes according to the splitters pre-drill. Then I tapped an extra on each far side and in front just to help. So far so good. Freakin’ Swiss cheese under there.

Great idea.

These are cool too. I have used them on my beater Nissan Armada to fix sagging wheel well splash guards. I didn't use them for my EOS stage 2 splitter since I was just replacing a poverty splitter and all holes lined up.

The pictures in the ad are bad. You cut the cable tie off flush at the cap. They don't stick out like they show.

You could also use some of these.
nuts | McMaster-Carr
I'd look at the 6mm zinc plated or corrosion resistant ones in the top 2 styles. Note that they say the edge of the nut is 13mm or 14.5mm away from the hole your bolt would thread into so cut a slot or drill a hole large enough for the nut's sheet metal part to slide through and slip it into position. This provides you w/ a steel nut to screw a bolt into. these are fairly common in OEM front valance and undertray installs.
