Someone will know for certain, but I think 32G is the max size...

Agree - SD cards must be formatted Fat32. Cards larger than 32 gb must be formatted by a third party utility. I've had SD cards as big as 1TB work.
But - note that a 32 gb card will hold over 11 hr of recordings. Also - stop / start every 90 minutes due to Fat32 file size limits. The recording will stop with NO error message. And - recording stops when the card is full.
NOTE - some SD cards have a write protect switch - must be OFF (slide closest to contact end).
