Default Thermostat replacement

Has anyone changed just the "bulb" section of the thermostat? I just finished replacing mine using a new housing assembly, those are readily available. What I wanted to do was to find just the actual thermostat and rebuild my original to keep as a spare. I can find them from Mishimoto and other places, but only as low temp versions, 160 degrees or 180 degrees, the OEM is 194 degrees if I am not mistaken.
So has anyone found a source for just the thermostat without the housing @ 194 degrees?

Yes, I replaced mine by just transplanting the bulb from a generic thermostat of the temp I wanted - 170.

I just pushed out the old one in a vise using a socket to protect the protrusion thingy. The replacement slipped in same way. Been installed for many years now, no issues, just cooler temps with a reprogram of the fans, larger Dewitts fan, and larger Dewitts radiator. Without those, you will NOT get cooler temps by replacing the thermostat.

You are going to ask me what donor thermostat part number did I use and to be honest I do not recall.

Why do you want cooler temps than the engine was originally designed for?

Thanks for that reply, I have found cooler temp thermostats, but I am looking for a thermostat that is rated for the OEM specs , which I believe is 194 degrees. I have already taken my OEM assembly apart, so if I find the correct thermostat it will be just reversing the process to reassemble it
