So I’m looking at a 2016 Z51 convertible stingray. It has a rebuilt title due to being hit in drivers fender. Fairly low mileage, all repairs look good. But I notice no stingray emblem on either fender.
Is this something that some C7’s didn’t have or is it something the repairs never replaced?
There is a Z51 emblem on the hood toward rear of hood. Maybe normal.?
I have been mostly a C6 and C3 owner, just looking at a possible addition to the stable for the right price.
Thanks.
I’m not an expert, but who’s to say what was done during the repairs or what the previous owner just wanted on their car. From the factory, the car should have had a a chrome Stingray on each fender, just in front of the door. There was no actual Z51 emblems ever installed by Chevrolet. Many people have installed aftermarket Z51 emblems in various locations on their cars. Personal preference and a bit of a controversial subject.
Some people will tell you to steer clear of a car like that, and say there are plenty of good C7’s to choose from. I say, if you do your homework and you know what you’re looking at, for the right price, it could be a good car. Good luck

Thank you sir, much appreciated. While I was looking I did notice some C7’s that were bases did not have the stingray emblem, I suppose they could removed also. I did remove my gm chicklets on my C6. 😂
thanks again.
I have a 2016 Z51 3LT Convertible. There should be a Stingray on each front fender. It makes me wonder if the damage was more extensive than just one fender.
There have been a number of threads about owners 'de-badging' their cars, removing the fender stingrays and the rear Corvette emblem. I wouldn't worry about the missing 'rays, or the added Z51. Those conditions are easily fixed if they bug you.
I have STINGRAY on my C7 and like it. Easy to add and easy to remove.
I think I like the script “Stingray” like yours better but the OEM fish emblem the factory installs. BTW, where did you get that? Might consider adding it to the backend somewhere on my C7. Maybe just above one of the rear reflector strips.
Just remove the aftermarket Z51 Hood Emblems if you don't like them. They are only held on by adhesive tape.
You can always purchase a set of side fender Stingray emblems and stick them on if you want.
I don't understand why anyone would say "steer clear of a car like that" because of two easily removable hood emblems.
Found them on eBay. They seem to be good quality. I originally installed them on my 68, thought they would look good on my 2014. If you get them, take a long time testing correct placement. They always seem crooked.

Another great example of how comments can be misunderstood on the internet/ forums. My “steer clear “ comment had to do with the OP stating the car “ had a rebuilt title due to being hit in the drivers fender”, not because it has Z51 emblems on the hood. Sorry if I did not make myself clear on that.
Probably two different considerations; Repair and debadging. I've removed the stingray badges and the "corvette" script form my car and replaced the corvette flags with a blacked out pair. I like the more stealthy look (my car is black).

Actually I thought you were referring to others but yes I did misunderstand. I do agree with you that the rebuilt title would be a red flag unless the OP is getting a killer deal and knows the history of the car and intends to keep it long term.
A rebuilt title would cause me pause. I suggest that you have a good Corvette mechanic you trust look this Vette over for unseen damage, especially frame damage, that could cause issues later. Good luck.
I intentionally remove all that crappola and give to my Granddaughter to paint and play with as she wishes. As I recall the "Stingrays" ended up purple with yellow and orange polka-dots...
With a rebuilt title, it really just depends on what you’re willing to spend on a C7. My dad always told me there is a difference between what you can afford and what you want to afford. If you’re planning to keep it for the long haul and make it into something you’re proud of, then go for it—just know the downsides. It’ll be tougher to sell later and will take the right buyer (and some patience). Good luck!
