Guys got a 2016 z51 stingray needs new fuel pump. The expensive one. (Main pump)
parts on BO - **** order etc from dealer
can anyone share their experience and how long a fuel pump or FPCM took to come in?
When you say the main one, I'm assuming you're talking about the primary pump in the tank since you mentioned FPCM. If so, basically the whole *** of the car needs to be removed. It's a decently big job if you're doing it the way GM wants you to. I've read of a few guys getting crafty and not having to entirely disassemble the car, but I've personally never done those methods.
Since everything is gonna be out, now is the time to check over everything. Clutch (if a manual), torque tube, various bushings, basically everything that you can't get to unless the car is apart like it is for the pump replacement.
Apparently GM had issues with the 2014-2016 pumps, the same way they did on the C6. I guess they didn't learn their lesson the first time?

Just had this done by a dealer. The entire rear of the car needs to come off. It took about 3 months and then I had to take it back repeatedly over the next year constantly re-repair poor workmanship. It was a complete nightmare I hope you can avoid.

My 2016 has been at the dealership waiting for a new FPCM for a month and a half. I called them a couple days ago and they suggested I call GM Customer Service at 800-222-1020 which I did. The representative I spoke to said he would look into it and gave me a case number. He also said that it showed that the part was shipped on September 18th. The dealer has not received the part. If your car has less than 120K miles, it should be covered under TSB 17469 as mine is.
