Default Done did it again.

A while back I traded my beautiful 2017 vette in on a brand new pickup truck. I wished that I did not have to do it, but I just did not have enough cash, and I need a reliable pickup. I thought that I would be able to survive without a C7, but I could not. I have found what I hope to be a phenomenal deal on a 2015 with about 50k miles, more than I would like, but that is offset by the price for me.

The car has quite a bit of history from the car fax, some good, some bad. I hope this turns out to be the phenomenal deal it appears to be for me. Hey, it could happen. The good news is that I am able to fix or repair just about anything on this car, not that I want to mind you.

Anyhow glad to be back and start customizing my car for my taste.

It is a beautiful white w/black trim. I hope I didn't get in too deep with this one. It has rattles and noises that I have never heard before. But hey, it looks great in the garage and the price was right. Getting ready to put it up on the lift. Fingers crossed.

I know the feeling. I had a silver 2017 Stingray M7 and then bought a very cool red 2013 Corvette M6 with a black interior. I sold the Stingray but missed it so much that I traded the C6 for a black 2018 Stingray but it was an A8. I came to the realization that i was bored with driving an A8. So i traded for a blue 2016 Stingray Z51 M7. Man, I love that car. Coolest car I have ever owned.

Since I have owned Nissan, Ford, Chevy and Toyota trucks, I am curious as to what truck you bought.

Congratulations! Suggest you replace all fluids (start fresh) and check the belt tensioner for leaks. Good luck.

Thanks for all of the encouragement. I got it on the lift yesterday. I did the oil and filter. The transmission was just replaced a couple of months before my purchase. I spoke with the company that did the work, and was told they replaced it with a transmission that has 29,000 miles on it. He seemed knowledgeable about the work he did. They also replaced the the rear end fluid. It seems pretty solid underneath. There were a couple of bolts missing in the plate under the tunnel and exhaust, which I replaced. I could not find where the annoying sound is coming from. The sound is most prominent when I am pulling into a driveway when car is 'twisting', it seems to me it is from the transmission area. I am going to do a better inspection of that area with a camera to see if I can find anything. I am wondering if there are bolts missing up there too.
The tires on the car are about the crapiest I have ever experienced. They are KUHMO low profile and they seem like they are solid rubber. I am getting my oversized Continental Extremes, hopefully by Friday, then I can start working on the rest of the 'noises'. I believe this car was 'beaten' apart by a bad driver with those tires for so many years.
The car drives fine otherwise. The saving grace is the sound system is really good. I have to crank it until all of the noises disappear.

Congrats and welcome back to "the lifestyle". I bought my baby this past April with 65K on the odometer and it's my daily driver, so don't feel bad. In the warm/hot weather I get more creaks and moans out of the top/body flex than you can imagine but I think it's just Shirley talking to me. Save the wave.

Thanks again for all of the encouragement. So what I am finding is that the many of the noises are coming from the top, doors, and rear hatch. I have put some protector on the rubber seals and they quiet down. I wish I could dip the whole car in some lubricant, I think that would solve much of it. Can't wait for those tires to get here. I am missing the MAG ride on my old 2017, that sure was an improvement on the ride.

Well here is a fun fact. My car is a Z51. I did not know this, neither did the seller. I thought it was a base Stingray. I found out by getting a copy of the window sticker. It appears I got an even better deal, yet to be determined.
That explains a lot about why the ride is so rough.
Well, I still love it.

I never particularly used to like white cars. I have learned to like them over the years. I just washed and waxed and polished her yesterday and it shines. When the sun hits, it looks like the surface is lit up.
