C7 Lock Plug Issue
Hi,
The lock plug on above my license plate that is the back up trunk release (if I were to get locked out) on my 2014 C7 has somehow pushed up into the bumper. My mechanic told me that GM discontinued that part and doesn't believe that it is repairable. Has anyone had any experience with a failure of this lock plug on C7's? The dealer has suggested I might be able to find the part at a parts dealer/junk yard, but it will require me to remove the bumper again to access. Thanks in advance for any suggestions or thoughts.

"...require me to remove the bumper again..." You took the bumper off previously? I've never seen this issue before and have to wonder, did you damage the lock retainer in some way? If so that might be repairable, but in all likelihood will require another bumper removal as you seem to wish to avoid.
