Default Active Rev Match Off

I have a 2017 C7 M7. I was driving the other day, when the DIC showed "Active Rev Match Inactive" when I had it turned on, and no matter how many times I tried the paddles, it would not come back on. When I subsequently parked the car, I noticed the fans were running, but the engine was not running hot. I then noticed that the engine temperature on the dashboard was all the way down at 100. Later that day I was driving after the car had been off for several hours, and everything started working normally again. The engine temperature runs normal, so the thermostat is doing its job. Before I take it to the dealer, is this something as simple as an engine temperature sensor? Loose connector? If so (dumb question) is this something easy to fix?

Default Battery

How old is your battery?
a lot of time on C7's, little annoying electronic items sometimes lead to a failing battery.

Thanks for the reply! I just had the battery replaced about 1 1/2 months ago. I did not replace it with the lithium ion, instead went with a more traditional lead acid.

Sounds like a thermostat. They will usually throw a CEL. Not too hard to do at home.

Agreed on the thermostat. And IIRC, rev match is disabled if the engine is cold.

Classic symptoms of a bad thermostat or temperature sensor. In my case it was a bad thermostat.

I had the same issue and had the temperature sensor replaced first. Issue still remained and then had the thermostat replaced. Hasn't come back since. It may have been $500 in the end.
