I meet up with a friend for lunch last week. Upon leaving and approaching my car, I saw a note on the windshield. My first thought was that someone was apologizing for hitting me.
After reading it, I had idea what they were talking about. This was in a shopping center, I did not cut anyone off, I wasn't speeding, I parked within the lines. I have no idea of the context of this note.

Only 2 types of people will "know" what they are talking about. Clairvoyant people and those wanting to feel good about themselves. If you believe in Clairvoyance, Miss Cleo got herself busted and I believe one of the officers quipped that she should have seen it coming. The others, as seen, are more than happy to believe that someone is envious of their car which isn't the latest and the greatest nor is it even an exotic car.
Sorry but for me to do more than toss such a note into the trash, you are going to need to be more specific. If I pissed you off somehow, make your case. I'm not about to try guess your state of mind. We get past that and I want to know if the person who is voicing the opinion is either having sex with me or part of my financial wellbeing. If neither, the note goes into the trash without any further consideration.

I totally agree with your points. In posting this note, I wasn't expecting any real resolution on this, just thought that it would be fun to show, what kind of people are out there. I would much rather have someone call me out personally.
This type of note really serves no purpose. To me, it's the same as an idiot light. While it may point out a possible problem, it does not clearly identify what the problem is. Do I dare say, that this is a generation issue?

With the "idiot light" there are a few things that might trigger it. This one is so vague, it could be anything to everything. For all we know, it was designed to make you work. Kinda like someone who was nearby watching me pick up the dollar coin they stuck to the floor of the mall. Joke was on them. I pulled out my Leatherman knife, engaged the large flat screwdriver and chipped it out. You should have seen their faces go from laughing to stunned.
That was my point. Something triggered the 'idiot light' (note), but with its vagueness (again the note), it has no value. I guess an idiot light at least points you in the right direction. Whatever, this has now taken up more time than I think it deserves. It was fun for a while.
Do you have a loud exhaust note? That hand written note reads like frustration boiled over rather than a threat. There’s no explicit menace—just annoyance.
I actually left a note on a Corvette convertible one time. The beautiful Corvette was parked in a shopping center parking lot.
I wrote: Just saw a black pick up truck back into the front of your car and the large hitch embedded itself in your front bumper. Here’s the tag of the truck. (I gave the letters and numbers.) 3 men got out of the truck and looked at your car and obviously saw the damage and quickly drove away.
Had a co-worker put those bullet/gunshot stickers on the quarter panel of my last sports car....I was NOT amused. LOL
Until he called and told me what he did. No harm no foul. and I guess it was funny in hindsight.
Based on your location, your car and the current tone of our times, it would not surprise me that you unknowingly somehow pissed off a Prius driver. I wouldn't give it another thought.
No louder than other Corvette (stock-NPP), Which is loud enough for some. As I was basically just idling through the parking lot, I wouldn't expect that to be an issue.
Having said that, I did once get a semi-stern talking to from a park ranger. This was while in my Camry (TRD). The factory exhaust is just a bit louder than the other models, but barely above that of other cars. Some people just like to be that person {Karen?). If it was an exhaust issue (Corvette) and I that person had pointed it in person, I would have had to give them the old NPP salute!
It could be anything at this point. Regarding friends, none of my friends would have done something like this. If anything, they have told it to me directly.
Jealousy is as good as anything.
I know that I have pissed off a lot people over the years. This time (and when in close public spaces (residential areas, parking lots, schools), I try to keep a low profile.
Just today, I was parked in public park, right next to an elementary school. I was drying off my car after just getting it washed. A couple of kids (maybe 10-12 years old) asked what year it was. His first guess was 2000. I told him it's a little newer. He tried 2016. Almost, it's a 2014. anyway, they appreciated it. This interaction helped to offset the 'note'.

Sounds like a tree hugging, Prius driving, purple haired crazy *** "save the earth" liberal mad at your fossil burning sports car
If so, they picked the wrong picked the wrong person to protest. Not that I'd doing anything in retaliation, I'd just be even less 'chill'.
I don't know about the guy and his thoughts but if he wanted to get a rise of of someonenor someones, he sure picked the right group. "Two Fer" "ain't got nothing on him.

If I earned it, I'm good with it. If I didn't, then we will a further talking to. People stand behind being offended, like it's a right. If you're offended, that's on you.
