Did a little road trip to Sparks yesterday (from Concord, Ca). I headed out on I-80 but knew that on the way back, the traffic was going to be bad (as it always is on a Sunday afternoon coming through Sacramento).
I decided to come back via Hwy 395 to Carson City and Minden instead. Then picked up Hwy 88 to Jackson / San Andreas / Stockton / Livermore then home to Concord.
It was a gorgeous day with the top off the whole way (mid 60's / low 70's). Even with all the mountain driving, I still managed pretty decent MPG (I think anyways).

Yep, trip B 502 miles at 26 MPG. Not bad. 53 MPH average, wow, you must have been moving. But, none of us purchased a Corvette to get great mileage.

Picked up my Z06 in Virginia. Drove it home to NY. One tank full. I was shocked to say the least. I only drive about 1500 miles a year now so I never check my mpg.

Sounds like it was a great trip and that is not a bad average MPG.

Even in the mountains, the speed limit was usually 45-55 mph. Most of the freeway on hwy 395 was 70 mph. I was trying to be a good boy too.

I got you covered on the miles. I take a few long rides a month. These tend to be overnight runs, around 500-800 miles round trip.
Current gas prices will have some effect on these trips (Premium/91 @ $6.89/gal). I may a trip planned for May that will be about 10k miles.
Doing a lap of the U.S. (all for corners of the country). This will be a bit pricy. But that's why I bought the C7.

This is one of many trips that I take. Living in this part of the state / country, gives many opportunities to explore different roads (mountains, deserts, ocean).
Regarding MPG, people are always surprised when I tell them what I get. For this type of car, I feel it's pretty decent (acceptable for me).
My 2023 Camry TRD would get maybe 28-29 mpg on this same run.

That's pretty good mpg. When I tell people that I have gotten 30 mpg on a road trip while taking it easy on the throttle, they are surprised.

I'll never see a 30 mpg average. But, then again, I never planned on it with this car. It would be nice to have more fun driving available, than what we do here.

If I set the cruise control to 65, I can get 32-34 mpg, 27-28 at 70'ish mph. As noted previously, my 2023 Camry TRD gets maybe a mile or two better (V6-3.5L).
I still get people who are surprised by the mileage, power and handling of these cars (including the C6's). Not very practical I know, but for what they offer, their hard to beat.

I can't really skip Cali, that's home base. I will be filling up in those states and a few more. I retired a years ago and have no plans to travel internationally (well, maybe one trip). I love to drive and plan on traveling domestically instead.

I haven't a clue what my MPG is!!! And I ALWAYS run Mobil 93. I bought the car to enjoy, not be "practical". This is my 5th and most likely last one and I just enjoy the hell out of it!

I get very similar in my 2019 GS M7 under the same driving condition. Actually 31.4 is pretty consistent for me on flat terrain whereas my 2010 Caddy DTS on the same route, same 65 mph, gets 26.4.

I make no attempt to drive for good mileage, and our road trips are usually secondary roads that require frequent passing of other cars, but I still average 25 mpg for the trip. So with a small reserve I can still go 450 miles.

Living in California, I go to Oregon with some frequency (I might even be going there tomorrow. coin flip). I did pass through Astoria last 4th of July. I was heading back from a bonsai run (from Concord, Ca. To Seattle). I took I-5 heading out (14 hours) and
Hwy 1 coming back (24 hours). I did take a 2-hour nap just south of Eureka. I mis judged hotel availability for the 4th (no vacancies anywhere Oregon / California. Not the best to sleep in (6'-2" @ 320lbs). Still, I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I usually only check my mileage on long drives, only out of curiosity. While I do not drive with MPG in mind, I do try to keep it in check.
Locally (SF bay area), premium (91) is around $6.80/gal currently. As this is still a recent bump in pricing, I haven't pulled the reins in yet.
If it continues too much longer though, we'll see.

I never even think about gas mileage in my Stingray. I do know that it gets much better mpg than my Toyota Tundra, which has a 5.7 L V8 and averages 15-18 mpg.

I will transport some kids on an 800 mile trip next month and I expect to spend $160 on gas because I use mid range octane in the Tundra.
