I ordered the GM cap for my application however it doesn't snap onto the neck of the washer fluid tank. It lightly clicks on and after going for a ride I found the cap off altogether sitting wedged next to the tank. I tried two different caps from Amazon, one which came directly in a GM parts bag and no luck. The other came in a plain white packaging and had a ring around it that was too small to fit around the filler neck on my car. So I am driving with no cap over the windshield washer fluid tank. Does anybody have a solution? Maybe a custom cap or something more sturdy? I don't think that my filler neck is stripped, that would be hard for me to believe. But I just can't figure out what is going on.
and it fit perfect on my 2016. Maybe this is one of them that you tried? The only thing I opted to do was to remove the white paint/ink with acetone since most if not all the pics of stock C7 engine bays show it as all black.

I did order that one and the ring was way too small to go around the neck of the filler tank. Not sure how it fits on yours???
Can you confirm that your windshield fluid tank is original? Maybe its time to grab a caliper and measure that outside diameter
I have 1 3/4"
the ring that goes with the cap needs to be smaller than 1 3/4 to stay behind, I will think that it can stretch a bit to go over that. I didn't try on mine as 10 years old most likely will just break

I finally figured it out. The ring from an old cap was still around the neck of the washer bottle without the cap and I didn't notice it. So I removed the old ring and installed the new cap with the ring, which now, of course fit, and the cap snapped tightly onto the filler neck. Trial and error and great info here on the forum, as always.
