I recently purchased a 2017 C7 on Facebook Marketplace and the transaction went great. If you're comfortable selling your C7 yourself, FBM is a cost effective option.
Thanks to potential scammers its best to do the transaction at your bank so they can verify the form of payment is legit. Never accept electronic payment. Lots of information on the internet on how to avoid scammers.
Even this can be a problem. If a scammer issue you a stolen check on a good account it can be a month or more before you get the bad news and the bank wants the money back.
Most dealers now won't even accept certified checks. The "safest" is a bank to bank wire transfer from what I hear. Once a bank to bank wire transfer has happened the money cannot be clawed back. But it has to be bank to bank, and a reputable bank too, not some fly by night "bank".
We have not had any trouble writing personal checks for our last 4 car purchases. Two times they let me take the car before we even paid for it, due to money transfer times. I did have to get a certified bank check for the out of state purchase of the F150 Lightning. You need to read the 'fine print' on the bank transfers, they can claw it back for any number of reasons. I prefer the 'old fashioned' way. They give me a product for which I have control of, I give them the money for said product.
All of this makes me want to avoid privately selling my C7 (whenever that might be), and just trading it in at a dealer (to avoid all of the financial problems).

This is my problem too. I guess I am just stuck with it.
Even MOF is starting to realize that too.
You might explore listing it on BaT, I have sold a few cars there for people and always done well.
