Just had my driveway redone so I could park my new corvette on it. I have a car cover come ing, but I’m also wanting to setup a carport of some sort.
My driveway is about 11.5 feet wide
Looking for something that’s 10x18, 11x19, or somewhat along those lines. 12foot width won’t work. The back end of the structure must be openable as the large access gate to my backyard will be behind it.
I’ve considered a number of different options. I’m in CT/Northeast. Good chance the car will be stored indoors in the winter months, but not 100% certain.
Curious if anyone here has solid recommendations to keep this beauty away from the elements??
What is the wind like where you live? Around here carports dont seem to last that long due to high winds. I suppose it could just be poor installation. Last thing you want to see is a carport tangled with your corvette.

Typically not terrible up this way. However that obviously is a concern as a carport collapsing is far more catastrophic than anything else. I’d just have to secure the F out of it one way or another
I did consider a lean-to type of structure, but the thru the wall AC unit that sticks out right there is only 7.5 feet off the ground which limits the height as I wouldn’t want that inside the carport but above it.

If it's just a roof, even with one wall as suggested, what's the problem having the AC in it? It's still vented outside.

I just don't love the idea of something pumping hot and humid air in the direction of my corvette. I'm not certain it would really matter; it just makes me unsettled. Realistically, it's not in the cards to have a structure like that built any time too soon which is why I'd been looking for something a bit more simplistic to create shade and some protection any time I'm not cleaning and covering it with the covercraft cover I ordered.
