Default WIX Filter Question

I was changing the oil in the Z06 today and was about to install the new filter, when I noticed it looked different on the inside from the old filter. Both filters are the 10290XP.
Can anyone confirm if they changed it? Or did Amazon send me a knockoff?
Would you still recommend using it?

A few years ago Wix was purchased by Mann and Hummel and since then the quality has gone down. It's not the same trusted brand that we've all come to know. I would recommend switching to the Carquest Premium, NAPA Gold, Microgard Select EL, STP XL or Pentius UFXL. All of these are made under the Premium Guard name and are very high quality and can filter out 99.5% of the particles above 20 microns. That's considerably better than the Wix, which is only 95% efficient at 20 microns or the AC Delco, which is only about 98% efficient at 25-30 microns.

I'd just stick with AC Delco PF64.

I have checked many of those brands. The issue is that many of them list a filter for the C7 but they don't have the correct 22 psi valve. Just be sure and check the spec for the filter. Many filters don't even list the spec.

Yes, this^. The NAPA Gold now is NOT the NAPA Gold high quality from years ago since the buyout, takeover. This was confirmed to me by a local NAPA counter guy that told me the "new gold" is not any better than their Silver filters which is their budget filters. Fine for a DD but not for a Corvette engine. The engine machinist shop owner I used for my race engine machine work also confirmed the current "Gold" is not the same high quality filter of old.

It always happens when a buyout or takeover happens, two things you can count on is lower quality and higher profit margins for the bean counters that don't know a quality part from a dishrag.

Has anyone tried the Fram Titanium recently? The previous owner of my car used that, I just swapped back to an ACDelco.
