$3000. Rattle
I have a 2018 Corvette. There is a rattle in the dash. The dealer said it some pc. or screw and it will take 17 hours to take the dash apart and get the screw for a total of $3000. Are they flipping crazy????????????? any thoughts out there? 38k miles.

Has the dash ever been out before? Sounds like a lotta of cash to chase a rattle. Maybe turn up the music instead.

I would NOT want a dealer removing my dash... on any modern vehicle! 
I suggest you get someone with good hearing and try to localize the noise. Depending on the result, go from there. Some you might be able to trace and ultimately deal with; of course others, maybe no such luck. But, what have you to lose at this point but some time and effort. All the best.

Works out to $176 an hour. What's your point? Around here, Audi is $200 and other brands are more.

Rattles are surely a pain in the behind, lots of times finding them is difficult because inside a car the sound can bounce off of hard surfaces and your ears get fooled as to where they are coming from and hard to duplicate when the car is parked. Tell us when you hear the rattle, is it upon acceleration, braking, normal driving, smooth roads , rough roads. Any hint where abouts in the dash the sound is coming from? Have you looked in to the AC or defroster vents to see if there is a loose part moving around. I have not had a need to investigate the dash of my C7, but I wonder if there are any openings underneath where you could put in an inspection mirror or or flexible bore scope to look around. I have had luck finding metal screws, nuts and washers by probing the suspect area with a small magnet on a telescoping rod and fishing them out just with blind luck, not efficient, but sure is rewarding when you succeed.
