Default Targa tops...

How tight do you guys adjust the rear latch on your targa tops? Is it very firm, so it snaps off when you release it? I keep mine a little firm, but i still sometimes hear a creaking noise coming from the right rear window area. When i push my fingers between the rear right side of the top to put pressure in that area, it seems to stop. It's like the windshield, top, and rear are not pulled together tight enough to keep everything from flexing. The noise is not coming from the top itself.

I keep mine adjusted to where latching the rear is firm but not unusually tight. I don’t think it’s too good on the top if you really have to force it to latch.

Have you experienced any squeeky sound from the back sides like things are flexing? I keep the targa top pins greased, with o rings on them and wipe all the rubber seals with silicone lube.

Didn't think about it till now, but i should take the top off and see if it still makes the noise.

Learned something new today, didn't know I could adjust the back lever. Thanks! Mine is very easy to release but no noises. Probably cause I have Sammy Hagar playing too loudly. (Joke from different thread)

On our various Corvettes over the decades, it seems like the rear latch should be tighter than “sloppy loose” but not “hard to latch”.
Usually we can fix noise with dielectric silicone grease instead of adjustments.

I drive how EVH drove his Lambos. With no music playing and I'm a guitar player too. The engine alone is sweet music to me.
