Default Spark plug.

Kind of interesting. I decided to change plugs. I got the OEM 41-114 plugs. The spec is supposed to be .040 inch. I have only changed one so far, when I removed the old plug, it's gap was .038. I know that isn't that big of difference, but they are probably original plugs. They probably don't even need to be replaced.
It's a 2014 LT1

That's probably within an excepted tolerance for GM.

Seems like every plug I've bought, regardless of brand, gaps them in .05 increments. So it's strange seeing a set in .038, but it happens.

Did you buy them from Rock Auto? I got plugs for my truck and all the gaps were off. Some were nearly touching the electrode. These were OEM plugs too. I don't know if someone just threw them on the shelf or they got beat up during shipping or QC is just garbage. They were supposed to be pre-gapped but almost ever single one needed adjustment.

From Amazon. The strange thing, Amazon said they didn't fit the 2014 LT1. They were exactly the same as I removed. The ones I removed were all .039-.038. Probably an exercise in futility.

Did GM change the PN by chance? On my truck I had to do a little digging as GM has a new PN for it so it was a little confusing.

That's a good question. I was beating my head against the wall trying to find the correct plug. There are so many options. I think there is a GM plug that is supposed to take the place of the original 2014 ACDelco 41-114. All I know for sure, is, this is what was in the car from new, so I used it. They are supposed to last a LONG time, so I figured I would change them for the last time.
The other reason I decided to change the plugs. I am changing the valve springs from the BAD yellow springs, to the new and improved springs, so I figured, as long as I was in there.

Haven't changed my plugs in my 2014 yet as I only have 10K miles on the car. But your post has me wondering if the gap on my plugs are .038 or different.

The difference between.040 and .038 doesn’t matter. And unless you’re nearing 100k miles there’s no reason to replace the plugs. My Owner’s Manual says the plug change interval is every 97,000 miles.

The oem plugs are a long-lasting part, unless you have 100k miles on the car, "don't fix it if it aint broke"

You guys are correct. I wouldn't have even considered it, but I have them out, so for $55, I thought I would change them. The plug wire will probably go bad before the plugs.
But, wow, my car runs SO much better. Just kidding.

I don't know if my plugs were original, I think they were, but I replaced mine at around 50k miles. I have a 2014 with a supercharger. I made a post on here that showed my plugs. The gap was correct but the ground electrode was being hollowed out. This meant my gap wasn't really correct. So I suggest not just checking the gap and main electrode condition, but looking at the underside of the ground electrode also.

Since they only need to be replaced every 100,000 miles it’s unlikely you’ll need to replace them again.
