Check engine light came on. Took it to dealer to be diagnosed. Their OBD scanner said the switch was failing. BTW, on the way to the dealer I stopped for gas. When I got back in the car, the check engine light went off. I guess it's an intermittent problem. Those are hard to diagnose. I didn't notice any difference in the way the car drove.

FYI, a failing ride mode switch will not cause the MIL (Check Engine Light) to illuminate...only things that affect the emissions of the car like the EVAP system or misfires will illuminate it and the suspension system isn't one of them and a scan tool doesn't tell you if a part is bad...unless you take your car to a dealership for a diagnosis.

This is not completely true. When I had my center console trim off to replace the shift **** boot/trim, I removed the panel without disconnecting the battery. When I got everything back together and started it up, I got a check engine light and an associated Body Control Module code for an open ride mode selector switch.
