Default *Dyno Pics & Vid* VMax Prototype Ported Throttle Body Testing

As many of you already know the magic work of Pete @ VMax Motorsports with all of his past LS1/LS2/LS3/LS7/LS9 throttle body work, of course we wanted to jump right in on the ground floor with the C7. So Pete & Chris from VMax came over the shop this morning to do some baseline testing. This is their Prototype HAND PORTED version that Vmax will digitize and start cutting on the CNC.

Impressions

From the first time we moved around the C7 we noticed a very heavy throttle lag when just performing parking lot maneuvers or leaving at traffic light when under light throttle. You had to push the pedal down so far just to get any type of low end response. We found that this was quite uncomfortable. Good news is that with the VMax prototype TB this has all gone away. It is very crisp and responsive when at light throttle maneuvers.

Driving down the road it is smooth as silk, and once you step it into it with any sort of throttle from light to WOT, you feel the response is amazing in comparison to the stock TB unit. The gains are across the board, idles perfect starts right up no tuning needed.

Lead-Time to Production

We are still 3-4 weeks out at least on seeing finalized CNC versions. FSP is bulking up core throttle bodies right now to meet the anticipated demand.

Testing Results

All testing was done on the FACTORY tune, this is untuned results. You will see it carry 4-7 rwhp/rwtq across the board pretty much. You will see a text chart below, the RWTQ and RWHP are broken out and analyzed every 150RPMs for the VMax vs. Stock TB.

$150 for the VMax CNC Throttle Body
+ $150 for the Core Throttle Body (We refund the $150 back when receive your core). You can also buy the core outright new from us so you'd be in $300 with new core if you do not want to send yours in.

You will need a 10mm socket/ratchet and a flat head screw driver. Takes about 5 minutes to swap the TB, very user friendly.

The gains we saw were also 1-2 rwhp in Stock form, should be a little bit more on a more modified c7.

The TB is ready for digitizing as the last time I spoke to Pete @ VMax earlier in the week. So VMax is still a bit out.

Gains were pretty decent across the board, but definitely less power to be gained than the last few models. I'd like to test it with a decent CAI.
