Default Anyone else driving their SUPERCHARGED C7 home tonight?

'Cause I am !!
I built the kit from scratch in 6 days. Not bragging or anything. (Ok maybe a little) !
I'll get some pics and a couple of videos up this evening.
I will answer a few obvious questions quickly before I go home.
It's a V3 Si with a 3.8 pulley for now. I'll put a V3 Ti on it tomorrow.
It runs a dedicated 8 rib belt, although I only had the correct size in a 6 rib. You'll see that in the video.
I do not have a clue how much boost or power it's making. I'll have to sort of sneak up on that a little at a time.
I made most of the parts with a band saw, lathe and a Bridgeport mill.
Some of the tubing was cut, welded, recut and rewelded to make it fit. So don't give me a hard time if it's not pretty.
The airbox, in particular, looks a little rough. I cut the hole with a 4" hole saw and elongated it with a die grinder. The angle was off so we had to open it up and fill it in with some weld.
I'm going to make another one tomorrow.
Once everything is dialed in, I'll have drawings made and the parts done on a CNC mill.
Everything fits, including that duct that allows hot air to exit through the hood.
I have yet to design whatever sheet metal parts I need for the Ram Air intercooler. I'll be at SEMA for part of next week so I may not get it done until after I'm back.
I just put a base tune in it and all seems well so far.
What do you think?

Great job Andy No surprise that A & A would be out front on C7 superchargers. Any numbers on on the dyno.

Design is much different than either a C5/6, blower on opposite side, why an 8 rib on a base kit? Looking forward to more info and pictures.

Awesome! I can't wait till the pro charger/vortec kits become available. I'd prefer those over a roots style blower.

Assuming the tuning goes well, these kits will be available shortly.

I haven't had a aftermarket SC engine in over 10 years.

Why do you prefer the Centrifugal over Roots? Just curious.

I am itching for forced induction!

I ran a D1SC on my mustang and had the stock root style blower on my 03 Cobra. I like the ability to have the intercooler plus the D1SC blower was an upgrade from a P1SC blower so it made swapping out easier. You can certainly swap pullies on the roots to make more boost but I liked the ability to strap on a bigger blower moving more air without having to significantly increasing the rpms on the blower. I eventually went to a custom 91mm turbo setup custom built by me and made over 1000hp on a dedicated track car

Traditionally, roots blowers made tire-melting torque down low and then fell flat on their face up top. So basically you'd spin like hell, and then it would begin running out of steam as you caught traction. However, it seems like the new TVS PD blowers don't really fall off like that anymore.

The centri blowers make great power up top, like a turbo.

I'm like 99.9% sure we are the FIRST.
Even LPE has tested the TVS on an "engine". I don't believe anyone else actually has one on a car that drives.
I actually believe that this could be the first supercharged C7 in the world. That would be cool.

Well, except for the one that's sitting in GM's testing hangar.

Perhaps the first centri supercharged C7!
