Default Firing order change?

I've noticed that the exhaust note of the C7 sounds markedly different than the C6 and I'm wondering if anyone knows if the firing order has been changed on the LT1?

Just curious....

That's not what I'm referring to.

The note itself is lower and throatier than either a C5 or C6, which both share the same firing order, as opposed to more "traditional" V8s. I.E. the V8 rumble didn't exist in them. It seems to have returned in the LT1 and I thought perhaps the firing order had changed yet again.

The LT1 GenV firing order is:
1, 8, 7, 2, 6, 5, 4, 3

LS1 is: 1-8-7-2-6-5-4-3 as well based on what I could find with a quick Google.

The more compression that enters the equation the better the sound of the motor.......... by a lot :

A half point difference in compression will be noted in exhaust sound but what makes the biggest difference in sound is the cranking compression

DI will allow higher cranking compression than without it......... However, I have not heard of anyone doing a compression test on a LT1

Thanks for the responses!

IMHO, the C7 sounds more traditional muscle car due to the changes
