Default how accurate is the builtin acceleration timer?

Just got my stock c7 3lt non-Z51 broke in and have tried a few 0-60 pulls timed by the builtin system and was wondering if anyone has compared it to instruments for accuracy? I'm at 680' and at 50 degrees got the following :

4.8 : tc off, 3000 RPM launch, spun the tires waay too much
4.4 (3 times) : track mode, TC on, ~3000 RPM manual launch
4.2 : tc off, 1500 RPM launch, no wheel spin
4.0 : tc on, ~2500 RPM launch, less than half a second wheel spin

the 4.0 run I shifted around 6200, the others were all shifted way early (53-5700).

I find the 4.0 hard to believe in that I'm not that skilled a driver and several magazine reviewers weren't able to do that good, therefore I question the accuracy of the builtin tool.

Don't go by the magazines, first off.

Many of them didn't know what they were doing. Lots had their windows down. Lots were launching on crappy road/pavement. Lots didn't really know how to drive a manual still. And most had to test in awful weather.

Right now the season is changing and we're getting cooler air. You also may be launching on better road like newer or better asphalt. Just depends.

Thanks. This car's electronics make you feel like a hero. They told me I did a 3.8 yesterday. 3000 RPM launch to nail the throttle in tour mode. Tires turned over just enough to get past the bog, then it ripped. Less wheel spin than in track mode.

I never could get better than 4.3 in my '12 gt500. The traction control computer (and tires) in that thing were less than worthless. I had to turn it off completely and modulate the throttle. Couldn't even floor it when I hit second or the wheels would spin.

I tried doing a couple of launches with TC off in the vette. I never got better than 4.2 and sometimes ended up over 5. -- too hard to control wheel spin with the throttle (for me at least!)

I love this car! I want to find a road course somewhere near Austin and see what it feels like on the track.

Try Circuit of The Americas. That will get your heartbeat up.

With any vehicle it takes time to figure out a clutch to be able to receive a great 60'
With a great 60 and decent shifting ... Things will come together in short notice.
Tuners will figure out the torque management and these vettes will be screaming pretty soon
