Has anybody compared the suede seat insert option to the leather in the base or the Nappa leather in the 3LT? I'm wondering if the suede is a little less firm than the base? I thought the 3LT was nicer than the 2LT in terms of comfort, but I can't justify the higher price on a black interior. I doubt I'll ever see an available C7 with suede inserts at any of my local dealers, since almost all of them are presold.

I haven't seen them on the c7 yet, however, i do have hem on another one of my GM cars and they are great. I would think on black you'll have a nice color contrast. They really dont change the way the seat feels, but, it seems that the suede inserts aren't as painfully hot in the summer as the rest of the seat.
And as far as pre-sold goes, see if any local dealers have any coming in with that option, they probably wont let you sit in a pre-sold one, but i'd bet they'd open the door and let you look, and/or take pics.
I have the 3LT trim with the Ultrasuede (or Alcantara) seat inserts. I have seen and sat in both.
I learned from my CTS-V Wagon that the suede inserts help in holding you firmly in your seat so I optioned the C7 the same. It doesn't take the place of proper bolstering, but it prevents those little slips and minor movements that disctract me during spirited driving. It is softer to the touch but it won't make the seat "plusher on the tush". The suede does require a little more cleaning and care but not much more than keeping leather clean.
I have them in my CTS V, I like them they don't get as hot and I feel they keep my butt planted as it is not as slippery as leather. I don't think I would have them again as I am always worried about getting them stained? Yes I have a stain protector on them.
I have Ligne Roset furniture made out of Alacantra, my car will have all leather seats. Looks cool, very cool actually, however, supposedly impervious to uv and stains, sorry to say it is just not so. Cheers!
I have then in mine, primarily got them for some contrast in the all black interior I think it looks really nice even better in person. I've had similar on other cars and never had an issue with wear.

Totally agree here. I got the 2LT Kalahari with Suede inserts and they keep you securely planted while cornering. They look great as well with some nice contrast. All you need to do is run your hand over it every once in a while to keep it looking great.
