Do Base Wheels work on a Z51 Car???
I got to get winter tires!!!! This thing is dangerous in these Ohio winters.
I see lot of base wheels up for sale in the parts section...... and painted wheels will work perfect in the salt.
Can 18 19s base wheels fit on a Z51 car with the 19 20 set up???
Plus 19" winter tires are more readily available.
Heck for what I want I'd take any wheel even a steel wheel if I can get the car out in the winter!!!!!!

They fit, but may rub the brake cooling stuff. Also you may need to have the wheel weights moved as they will likely hit the calipers.

I bought some base rear wheels for autocross purposes (better choice of tires on 19's), those definitely will fit.
I am also curious about the front, since 18" will also allow for better tire choices. It looks like it will be close.

I remember reading awhile back someone tried the standard wheel on a z51 the only issue was the placement of the wheel weights.
You can move the weights out closer to the spokes and back near the rims rear edge to have clearance.

Correct... When I took my setup to the local Discount Tire, I told them to mount he weights on the inside portion of the rim. Guess where they mounted them?
Once mounted properly, no clearance issues whatsoever.
