Default Painting a C7

I would really like a new C7 but I do not particularly like any of the available colors. How difficult would it be to remove all of the body panels and re-paint a C7?

What color would you pick over the current colors?

If you want a crazy color and it isn't available I would recommend a vehicle wrap or plasti-dip. Repainting a vehicle usually degrades its value, so if you plan on reselling in the future you would probably be better off doing the above. The wrap might cost you $2000-2500, and plastidip can be done for about $600.

I would also suggest wrapping the vehicle. Many exotics are done this way, and they turn out looking superb.

Do a custom vinyl wrap.

You can do literally any type of appearance imaginable.

Chrome, polished gold, satin chrome, silver carbon fiber, matte lime green, gloss pink, camo, satin pearl white, chameleon colors, cow print, holographic swirls, hello kitty, wood grain, alligator skin, etc.

Of course, any standard metallic or gloss color can be done as well.

Infinite possibilities with vinyl wrap.

This C7 roof is a standard painted roof with vinyl wrap carbon fiber, not the oem carbon fiber roof option:

I don't know where the post is, but when the posts about the orange peel in factory paint jobs were really high a member had his white C7 repainted pearl white. The photos showed removal of the body panels, and the job looked excellent. I think the cost was upwards of $15k.

Do a wrap. If it's done properly, it will last you for many years and you won't be able to tell it's a wrap. I think cost is around $3K? Plus you get complete paint protection for your car! No waxing needed!

Thanks for the replies. Since I do my own painting I had not really considered the wrap, but I will look into it. For those who have had a wrap how long does it last and how does it look in tight spots like inside the door jambs and around sharp corners?

A skilled wrapper will make corners, etc look like they are painted, no folds, etc.

They can last 5+ years
