Default Speed Inc - C7 results

Mike brought us his beautiful automatic C7 for some basic upgrades. We installed Kooks long-tube headers with their hi-flow catted x-pipe, as well as Halltech Inductions new Carbon fiber C7 intake system. We also dyno-tuned the combination after the changes were made. Results and pictures below!

For all those parts and work, I’d have expected more. Edmond’s C7 ran 416HP/411 ft lbs bone stock on 91 octane. Don

All dyno's read different. That's why we're asking for the baseline numbers, so we can see what the improvement was.

Understand and agree with your comment. Even so, seems low for all that work and cost. Don

Default 442 RWHP to 449 RWHP from 4 different shops, and different headers. Same intake.

Their numbers are fine. SAE correction is about 2.43%% lower than the STD numbers others have posted. We have 4 dynos that all make between 442 to 446.6 RWHP displayed in STD correction. Speed Inc is estimated, but they can post the actual STD numbers tomorrow.

THAT IS WITHIN 1% FOR 4 DIFFERENT SHOPS ALL BOLTING ON THE HALLTECH STINGERCKN and their choice of headers. No tuning necessary, but I'll bet tuning helps with under the curve and overall performance like AFM delete, etc.

Speed Inc's numbers would be 2.43%% higher or 446.6 RWHP if shown in STD correction factor. I think they did some tuning as well, which accounts for slightly more power.

Four different dynos two with simple bolt on with the Halltech StingerCKN and Kooks, one with bolt on StingerCKN and ARH; STD correction on all three dynos with estimated STD on the fourth and NO TUNING:
Stinger and Kooks: 441.77/451.44
Stinger and Kooks: 444.17/442.01
Stinger and ARH: 445.34/400.40
Stinger and Kooks: 446.6/448 (estimated STD-with tuning)

CKN with Kooks:

CKN with Kooks:

CKN with mids ARH:

All different dynos, testing methods, but standard correction to compare results. The first two dynos are with the CKN and Kooks, the third with AHR. Now we have a third dyno with Kooks and the results are all within the margin of error, showing that Kooks and ARH are very close when run with our StingerCKN.

Our intake represents +16.5 RWHP/12lb-ft of the total combination of headers and CKN. We have the proof. +20 RWHP/21.5lb-ft when added to a cam and heads baseline.

Does not appear to be low numbers to me. Auto's seem to be in the 400hp/400tq range...baseline. I would highly believe that this car made 35rwhp from baseline. M7's are about 15 rwhp more, baseline. I know of a M7 making 455/455 with the exact set up. And it made about 35 rwhp from baseline. It would be somewhat suspicious when you obtain around 50rwhp with those mods. Horsepower for each mod may add up to 50 rwhp but it's not going to show up on the dyno. Never seen 50 rwhp bolt on C7 as of yet. Just my .02

The customer needed a quick turn around so we did not do a baseline run. We have seen on our dyno, and with others, that the autos typically baseline in the 395rwhp range.

As I said. Four completely different dynos and each lay down between 442RWHP and 445 RWHP. That's what is known as backup dynos.

Interestingly, the LT1 with our intake and headers has peak hp over 500, which puts the C7 Stingray in C6Z06 territory. This is what Katech showed on their engine dyno with headers as well. Warranty safe, since bolt on, means no tuning required to keep codes away.

This was the first dyno ever done with our prototype intake and headers (STP correction) Our production StingerCKN added +10 more HP (after cam install)

Good work guys.

Not bad all.... 440rwhp is c6z territory for sure! Even with a cam-only these new engines are pumping out 500rwhp++... again ls7 territory.

I wish gm would read this as I hope they mget serious and produce a 427/454 DI LTx engine. 600rwhp++ all day!!

Yep, very close to STOCK Z06 territory(445 to 460 depending on dyno). Ever see a dyno sheet of a Z06 with long tubes, CAI and a tune(just to compare mods to mods, not mods to stock)?
