Broke after a month. Started leaking all over. One of the fittings cracked off. Fit/finish is subpar for the price. Hoses/etc are cheaply constructed. There are far better options for the price.
hmmm, maybe you got a bad unit. I have read a lot of good reviews about their catch cans.
Shouldn't it be at least 600rwhp without headers and at least 650rwhp with headers?
Is this a Mustang dyno?
Where are you getting your numbers from? All of the kits on the C7 will be very similar to this. A completely stock C7 will make between 550 - 580 running about 7psi (and will vary depending on ambient temps). I don't even have the sport exhaust on mine. (Magnaflow on the way)
Once you start running headers, Meth, higher boost then you are obviously looking at higher numbers. I'm completely happy where I am at right now.
Congrats on the Supercharger. Curios on why you chose Magnaflow over BB or anything else out there right now? Car looks awesome bro, good luck
I have been waiting for Borla. They originally said mid December they would have systems. Then they kept swing "2 more weeks" every time I called. Last time I talked to them they now said April sometime. I'm do e waiting. I wanted a system with a deeper tone, and I've had a magnaflow before on a different vehicle. I've got one on order should ship in about 2 weeks. Plus I wanted black tips.
The only system really available right now is the BB
I don't think so. I think there are much better cans for the money. Check into the mighty mouse cans.
Those Mighty Mouse cans look very well engineered. I got a quote for a RX at $428 shipped and about choked. I got one off of ebay for $16 shipped that I will modify.
I need to order one - it's probably overkill with the dry sump, but it's cheap insurance.
Do you know which lines you'll use? We obviously bypass some of it with the airbox route. Not sure where I'd tap in. Did you get one with check valves?
Theta, don't be too sure. After finding this in my stock Z51, I'm getting a catch can ASAP.
Dry sump cars are easy to overfill and dump a ton of oil back into the intake. I bet we see a lot of that. People don't read the manual, check the oil, see it is low, add some, then it all lands up in the intake.

True, especially since the original owner's manual specs overstated the oil capacity of the Z51 by about 1/2 quart!.
But not so in my case. I was aware of the amendment of the owner's manual issue early on, checked it and there was no factory overfill. Since then, I have been monitoring my oil levels carefully to look for any undue consumption.
There is actually a bulletin from GM on this that attributes the issue to "aggressive driving" (huh?):
Ludi, I know you posted that for me, but the funny (and ironic part) is that I was the original poster of that (a cropped screen-cap from my GM Si subscription).
Trust me, I understand the significance. Unfortunately, it appears that there's more to it than the classic 10.2qt overfill causing issues.
We're now seeing 9.8'ers (yes, I made that up ) with the same thing. Catch can time! I just wish I could get somebody at Elite on the phone to confirm the need for 3 barbs and 2 check valves.

I did the same on one of my cars, and ran it for about 10,000 miles successfully. Just don't use a loofa... I tried that for a while (didn't work the greatest). Steel wool works better so long as you have a screen.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion! I am going to try to mount it in a cool place to so hopefully the vapors will condense out in the can.

I left a message for Elite also. Since you are going the sc route then I believe you are going to need 3 barbs and dual check valves.

Small World!
Thanks for your posts. They helped me to convince my service manager to address the problem. I've been reading the catch can discussions with great interest, since this is all new to me.
