Default Induction air entering from the side....

I noticed air induction comes from the passenger right side...a big 4 inch right angle before entering the engine. Air comes from just over the right tire, not from straight ahead like previous vettes. My question is, are any vendors working on an alternative arrangement? I know there is very little room for re-routing, but maybe there is development work going on.

Any performance gain probably isn't worth the effort.

Just put some Zaino on it.

That's good for an additional 5 - 15 hp

A Vender already makes a high performance intake and guess were its located.

all the smart *** remarks aside (and im a big smart asser) every degree of bend reduces the Intake air efficiency, its just physics .I am in the process of having my C7 built ,Vortec,Cam,Methanol ,converter plus an assortment of other goodies and Ill end up with a 90 to get to fender well .Sucks but its the best of whats available. Someone Please let me know when a more efficient way to get cool air into the motor is invented!

I read somewhere about making compromises ......

Regardless, look at the bend in the air intake of the 90's LT1 used in the Camaro and how small it was/is compared to the current LT1 in the vette. So at least they learned something.

Just wait a while. I am sure Callaway and Vararam are working on a CAI as we type.

The bend in the air intake track will not impede cold air which lowers the IAT temps so that should increase horse power. I am sure the designers are working on making the air intake track more efficient than stock
