Default Z51/ MSRC question

I went to the local skid pad today to play around with the different modes in the track setting.
The first pass I held the TC button for 10 seconds and turned TC and Stabilitrak completely off. This mode provided lots of drifting practice and was a hoot!
I then put the car in Track Mode- PTM in Race mode. Per the manual, the TC and the Stabilitrak should have been completely turned off. It wasn't.
I had the electronics come on as I attempted to slide the car. It was a challenge to get the car to rotate.
I turned the car off and restarted. I went into Track mode and PTM Race. Still the electronic aids came on.
What am I doing wrong? It seems per the manual that all aids should be OFF in Race mode.
Thanks for the help.
Mike

I can't speak for drifting but my car is the Z51 with the MRSC see also and when I put the car in TRACK mode and PTM to race I cannot spin the tires coming off the line when drag racing so I don't think you are doing anything wrong it is just part of the traction control / torque management process.

Vnamvet-
I believe the launch control should still function in Track/Race mode coming off the line, which would explain why you aren't getting wheel spin. The manual states that this mode should have TC and Stabilitrak off, which is why I'm confused as it wasn't off.
Anyone else played around with turning off traction control competely?

If it's not raining, I have it off all the time.
This ensures that when I want to pass, the is no hesitation
like there is with it on.

You say PTM to Race, which mode is that of Mode 1 ~ 5, the way I understand it if you go all the way to Mode 5 it basically turns off the nannies.

Speedracer11, this has been discussed here earlier but it just kinda died on the vine.

It bugs me that when you go into PTM mode the active handling off indicator is on in all of the 5 modes when it should only be on in mode 4 and 5 if even then.

I'll have the car on the track on Saturday and will have plenty of opportunity to play with different settings. I'll report my findings/impressions.

Isn't that the traction control off light that is on, not the active handling
light?

No, it is actually both of the lights. They may have updated it, mine is VIN 618.

C7's are NOT designed for "drifting". Drifting is equal to ...
Ok! Do as you please with your C7 even if it is not even close to smart!
