Default Wanted (supercharger) first PM gets $$$$

Ok so I ordered a ProChager unit 02/26 and placed a very nice deposit with VR. Well then I found out ProChager was reworking the horizontal unit and would not be ready by mid April so I switched to ECS. Well it's now April fools day and no boost for my car. Love VR and Ron he has been very helpful but I need boost. I will travel a max of 800 miles to the first shop that can provide the service.

Called VR last week and left a message. No return call. Looks like its time for the shark tank.

You cant install what you don't have. I'm sure there is nothing that would make the speed shops happier than to bang out installations and get paid, but if UPS doesn't leave a box, there isn't much they can do. If you car is already at the shop, its just as much of a pain for them to have to store or shuffle it around every day.

I've spent my fair share of time at a shop or two and I can tell you the phones ring all day. The shops can correct me if I'm off here but most of the calls received are people just asking advice and never purchase anything, some are actual purchases and some are folks looking for an update on their order or build. Usually the same guys answering the phones have to also place the orders with vendors, receive the orders, ship the orders to customers, schedule the builds, check cars in, check cars out...you get the picture. Now multiply that x2 if they have internet orders and questions.

And of course, every customer wants to be priority #1. I'm extremely guilt of this myself. So you really cant take it personally if there is no update to give you.

What's that old saying about, "you cant put nine women in a room and make a baby in a month..."

Kinda speechless after all we have done for you already ... Not too many shops out there that will offer FREE header swaps so you could enjoy your C7 after months of being a 75k garage ornament..

Give me a call tomorrow and let me know if you would like to refund your deposit. I am sorry we haven't been able to install your system yet, as said above manufacturers are doing their best to meet the demand and the last conversation I had with ECS your kit was shipping early this week. I will be happy to follow up with Chris and Doug tomorrow if you intend on moving forward with Vengeance.

I know a little something about that 75k garage ornament.

I can guarantee David & Ron are trying their best to get every type of kit in. I think I was the first to finally get a DIY kit from ECS and at the time, Paxton/Vortech was already backordered.

I hate to say it, but the choke point has been Paxton/Vortech - the vendors have been taking the brunt of the backlash though.

Waiting sucks. We all want our stuff yesterday!

OP, take a deep breath and just give it a few more days. I can understand your frustration you can't make the SC kit show up any sooner.

Its a little bit unrealistic to think there would be stockpiles of aftermarket parts for a car that has only been on the streets for a few months. Frankly, I'm surprised to see such a good choice of products in such a short time. Kudos to the vendors and shops for spending their own coin on new cars to test products and installations on so that customers don't have to be the guinea pigs..

Don't suspect this would have been an issue with an obsolete C6 garage ornament.

That C6Z is far from obsolete.

That's actually a known issue, and I'm pretty sure they can fix that with re-torquing the collector ball joint plates. I know that sounds funny, but depending on which side you crank down first, it can pull the X one way or the other.

So I just want to make sure I understand this post. You got a shop to pull one of their techs off a paying customers car to do a free header installation for you. I would assume it's because you intended to come back for a blower installation. I will also assume, by this and several other posts you have made, that since then you have been calling other shops and vendors in search of a kit, to which you have had no luck locating one (because none are available). Now you want to just pull the rug out from under VR and stick them for the header swap and move to the back of the line for a blower kit.

Just wanted to make sure I got it right......

I'd at least make good on the header install, I mean really.

I don't see this going well...

00hotvette, I can sense your frustration. My suggestion would be to turn the computer off and call the vendor tomorrow to get a status update.

If you are upset with the vendor than I suggest that you just cancel your order and start over. It will be hard to rebuild a relationship with all parties bitter at each other. As well as if anything else goes wrong with the installation or kit then you're going to totally flip out and it will be a real big mess!
