Since it is the first I've seen go it should be a C7 Supercharged finally bites the dust! Plenty are being hammered hard!
Mine is working great and the 50 percent INCREASE 600 rwhp makes the car. Mine went through 6500 on the dyno just fine!
It's the second one that's been posted publicly, that I'm aware of. Plenty of front main seals have been blown, which the general consensus have been detonation induced. Certainly many other failures I'm sure being kept under wraps. Because, well, you know that doesn't make a shop look too good... Have read at least one shop non-nonchalantly claiming to be "swapping pistons" in one.
I know everyone likes to think this site is the end all be all of Corvette related "news" and "happenings"... however, there are still a large number of Corvette owners who don't have time for forums. And many more who simply don't care.
Certainly great to hear some tuners are not absolutely horrid, and taking on way more of a challenge than they can handle. So props to yours

Alot of shops are not going to tell you when things go wrong but the customers sure will.
We will be swapping pistons in our shop car soon once they get made. No one makes a piston so there all one off custom made :-(. BUT our car is still running strong so i hope you were not referring to us. Actually the other day we put another PSI of boost in it and ported the TB and a new airfilter to see what the changes would be. I cant wait to get the pistons in and some good bolts and turn this bad boy UP!!!!! I now have about 900 miles of abuse under FI on this motor. At first i didnt think i was going to like the LT motor but it has started to grow on us around here. If they just would have made the cam swap easier on the car like the LS motor :-(
Some issues may have been detonation but if you have tuned a Few of these FI you will see that the crank case pressure is a issue even at low timing on some cars, Hence why there is people making big breathers. The only issue isn't just tuning and detonation there are others as we did a TON of work to find them and fix them at the beginning with the couple cars we had in for Superchargers.
NOW if you still have a issue with a FI kit and a front seal issue then that my friend IS in the tune as the kits are all fixed now

The shops winning races are the ones standing on the biggest pile of blown up parts.
At least that's what they say... lol
Indeed, I've blown up my share of parts fooling around close to the edge - thats where the most power is. I've never won any heads up races on a 'safe' tune unless I was the only one in the class
Like I said it happens, thats how you learn how far you can go. As long as you arent using other people's new cars for the learning experience..
That was an excellent pictorial. I don't believe this was Bob's car since it's the wrong color (and I know the story there).
Wonder if this guy is on the forums - if he's one of the first ECS kits, it's pretty easy to figure out which of us it was. Interested in knowing who the tuner was, but I understand the legal action CYA, etc.
Not my car but eerily similar situation with the same SC kit.
Trying to figure out how this guy got a quart of oil in his intercooler. We checked my breather lines to the airbox and there was no oil in them.
My engine was still running but with a rough idle so hopefully not as toasted as this one. Again mine was over boosted due to a loose clamp on the air box to blower inlet pipe. I recommend anyone with this kit regularly check this connection and or beef it up with a better clamp, duct tape, etc. and get a boost gauge if you don't have one.

Now I won't disagree that no inlet pipe vs inlet pipe on these will cause a difference in boost. But, on a car that's being tuned with a maf sensor, the ECM is able to detect more airflow and add more fuel. Your maf curve would honestly have to be off pretty bad to not be able to safely accommodate an accidental extra 1-2 lbs of boost (conservatively speaking). So I'm not really buying into the whole "my inlet fell off so my motor blew up" thing. But that's just my honest opinion. Don't want to cough bs on the whole inlet theory, but to me, having done this for a good minute (15 years), I'm not convinced.
