Just off the EFILIVE website---They have reports of some FRIED ECM's that were previously tuned with Diablo and then re-tuned with EFILIVE
They have sent out a warning to all Commercial tuners NOT to re-tune any C7 that has previously been tuned with Diablo--
Take the word for what it's worth---It is extremely difficult to get a NEW C7 ECM if yours fries
ALSO report of tuning with EFILIVE without even touching the timing tables or fuel tables and working with "Torque Response" only has netted an incredible 25-30 RWHP gain average !! Stock automatics with NO mods are getting 440 RWHP----
The new world of SIDI tuning is amazing--- The ECM does all the work for you--Fuel and timing---All you need is to "ask for more TQ and the ECM tries to get it---
Check out the EFILIVE website to confirm----
I think the full context is if you have a Diablo Tune, put it back to stock BEFORE you tune it with ANY tuner program. I believe the issue was trying to tune the E92 with an existing Diablo tune still sitting in the ECM and they were making paper weights of the ECM.
The problem is with the system Diablo is using to make sure the checksum is correct to disguise any tuning work on the ECM. This "system" confuses the EFIlive boot loader and the E92 goes belly up. No problem if the original stock tune is loaded back into the ECM.

ya you make it sound like "Beware of diablo" That is just common sense. What do you expect flash then flash with different software. I am happy with my Trinity... Have fun with yours..

I hope you're right. This is EXACTLY my situation. Also, it would be good to know when
we'll get access to ALL the tuning tables. We can't even turn off CAGS.

If anything EFI Live should detect the non-factory calibration and not allow the PCM to be written to. Diablo has been doing this for years...
So how would somebody doing simple tweaks (minor changes) to a previously tuned car go about this? Revert back to stock on a heavily modified car and reinvent 90% all over again?

Read out the tuned calibration with EFI, HP etc... then put the car back to stock with in this case the Diablo, read out the factory calibration with EFI, HP etc... and make your changes to it. It's a couple extra steps, but I've never had any issues that way...
I always keep a copy of the STOCK and retuned files-If you had Diablo flash some changes along the way--Just re read the ECM again now that will have all the added updates that it currently has--
Then run a comparison analysis summary between the 2 tunes and a history list will pop up showing each table that has been made
You also can get most all STOCK GM tunes from tunefiledepo.com---then compare that tune to the current one---
Not sure if I answered your question--
