Agree on all counts, especially with getting a cam now. Not paying to get that ripped back out later.

I do have to give it to all the kits (centris) - they all look OEM (or as close as possible) once installed - especially now that everything comes in black.

Theta I’m not picking on you, but HP gained vs difficulty ratio is very favorable.

Some readers would be amazed at what some people have done on jack stands. A C7 S/C kit is from a mandatory shop install...
I did do two kits and 1 ls-3 1 ls7 on jack stands and 3 sets of headers.

I'm going w/ the Toyo 888s and hoping for the best - they seem to wear well and are under $400/tire on the rears.

You have my sympathy for the LS7 install on stands... that was a PITA install I'm sure.

It wasn't bad because I had already did the C6 then removed it and went back to stock. Really about the same.

My car has over 2k miles with the blower and is screaming to go the track.

I work in an area where we have 4 nice lanes and no traffic for 5 miles locals race around on weekends. So I'm able to practice the 1/4 mile.
This car has really come around and shifts QUICK and will 60ft well.
beside pulls like a bitch! But hard to pass 9XX.00 for working Sundays! same day as the tracks open!
Maybe this weekend

As soon as I get the car early August with some break in miles I am getting the A & A installed w/ headers....Please share your experience. I just sold my C5 Z06 w/560 RWHP, and am not going backwards in HP
I will be getting my A&A kit installed by Race Proven Motorsports in DE next week. I will report back on how everything goes. For how little they charge for installation, I had be silly not to take advantage of it.

That was supposed to be my original point, but I made it poorly. For the price, the time value of money and tool cost dictates that the pro install is a no-brainer, especially when the weather is nice outside.

Glad you're getting one in there finally!

I just dropped my car off with Andy on Tuesday. Hoping to have it back tomorrow.

I'll post numbers etc as soon as I get it home. Just ordered a set of Forgeline RB1's with Toyo R888's as well.

Finished it yesterday. I'm just tuning on it and testing a couple of "new items".

I'm pretty sure we're keeping 19x8.5 front and 20x11 rear. Satin Black

Sounds fun. I might have it shipped back to me. There's a small chance I jump on a plane tomorrow and drive it back. Thanks again.

Sean, you are the beacon for the DIY'ers. What happened to you?! LOL

I really admire those that have the knowledge and resolve to tackle a project such as this. It most likely costs more to do it yourself in terms of personal time value and tools and gray hair, but the knowledge gained from the experience is invaluable. Good for character building as well.

Since I lack such resolve, patience and knowledge, I'll let the pros do it. For those that not only enjoy driving a SC'ed C7 but also embrace the journey of installing it as well, more power to you!

I'm still there, I promise!

During these summer months when the weather is so nice, the time value of money changes a bit - time off can easily be put into enjoying driving the car, etc. During the winter time, time value of off-time is far less valuable (to me). In fact, when there is 12 inches of snow on the ground, you want nothing more than to fire up the heaters and go play with your toy.

Looking back, I don't regret doing it myself, as I learned quite a bit about the platform (and most of this was before I purchased all of the access I have now). I did take quite a bit (way too much, in fact) of time in doing it, as work and health problems got in the way.

The installs are so cheap on these at the moment that unless you're also paying for trucking/shipping, it would be silly not to have them installed and tuned professionally. The tuning is a BIG part of it, and not exactly for the DIYer.

That's why mine is heading down for the long trip to VR for 'everything else' I don't have time for. I just want to be enjoying my car a week from when they pick it up.

So I'm still pro-DIY, just glad to see more people getting these done to be honest.

I did not attempt to do the install myself due to not having a lift nor the free time to get it done in a timely manner.

Honestly after reading Theta's very well written and illustrated post I decided I should research having a professional install my kit. I decided after the research especially after deciding on the camshaft upgrade I would have a pro do the complete install. After meeting Ron at Vengeance Racing I was very satisfied with my decision to move forward with professional installation. With my very limited schedule and limited experience the cost of a pro far outweighed the risk of trying to squeeze in my install between work, family, etc. There is no doubt that my buddies and I were capable of the install however not having to stress the build was well worth the expense of having Vengeance complete the build. I literally have my car hauler hooked behind the truck waiting on the call from Ron at vengeance to come pick it up. I know it is super close to being ready if the exhaust I added after they started the build has arrived. I say let the pros do it.........and I never say that!

I can't speak highly enough about Andy and Josh. Great experience dealing with them and the car is just dumb fast now. Kit looks incredible too. They were even kind enough to tolerate my daily calls asking "Is it done yet? Can I pick it up yet?"

If the shop is any where near you and customer service is important to you, I'd definitely recommend sending your car there for a supercharger.

The car has headers and B&B exhaust before I took it to them for the blower. Went from 440rwhp to 580rwhp on 91. Car made 602 with a can of torco.

Yes I'm in Vegas.
