Circle D 245mm Multi Disk. Size to be determined on cars usage. Just used one in a Gen 5 truck we did last week, was working great at the track for a little 5.3. 32-3400 is usually the size I recommend for street use, but 36-3800 or so would be good if you're going for track numbers.

And you need a multi disk because these converters lock up under WOT.

I'm running a Yank SC series 10.5, 3000 stall. Not sure yet if it's the right one. Best time to date is 10.57, 1.57/ 60 ft.

We use Circle D convertors on ALL our 6L80E cars. Get a Triple Disk Convertor though no matter what.

Worlds quickest C7 has a converter from Circle D in it. We use their converters in almost all of our builds!

Let us know if we can help you out with anything! Hope you're enjoying the car!

Concensus seems to be circle D. What stall size if I want to drive it and track it?

The stock converter is around 2500 in these cars. You would be fine with a 3200 if that's what you want. I wouldnt go much less than that though.

What about with the addition of a cam and head work? Still the same huh? I do not want the car to be just a track car though

Higher stall converters become a fine line of street-ability and track-ability. Dont assume someone who has a car that doesnt drop off on Hp at 7200 will take the same stall as a car that drops off at 6k, Chuck your recomendations are great for your car but may be lacking on a stock lt1. Also for all you track people that worry about heat, a stall converter creates a ton of heat, so be warned. Most of the heat generated in an automatic transmission is generated by the torque converter, higher stall more heat. The lockup clutch helps with heat, but when is it really applied?

I don't need more heat where I am at that is for sure.

Is yours a track only or do you drive it around some too?

Thread revival.

We are dropping our 2014 C7 A6 off at our local tuner in October.

Currently Installed:
- ECS 1500 Supercharger @ 10 lbs.
- ECS Alky Meth Control (single nozzle)
- 1 7/8 American Racing Headers / cross pipe w/ cats
- LMR *revised* breather / catch can

Dyno'd about 10 days ago in 101 degree weather at 650 rwhp / 601 rwtq.
Previously dyno'd on a cooler day on a different dyno at 674 rwhp / 585 rwtq.

Scheduled to be installed in October:
- TS&P VVT-2 cam and head package
- Circle D C7 258mm Pro III 6L80E Torque Converter

I mainly have a question about the torque converter. Everyone has an opinion about which stall to go with. I am leaning towards a 3000 - 3200. I want the car to drive / feel like a "stock" car with stock manners (when not getting into the throttle). Is 3200 basically no different feeling than the factory 2500-ish(?) converter? The car is a daily driver. I do not have any plans on launching the car at 3600 (or higher) on a prepped track with drag radials.

Can anyone with a C7 A6 chime in if you've swapped out your factory torque converter for an aftermarket one. What are your impressions?

Very interested in a higher stall converter----My question is-----Most A6's and mine as well hits a trans temp over 200* around town and more like 220* if I'm driving it hard---To me this is way hot---I know a stall adds even more HEAT---Are you installing an added trans cooler ? and where are you putting it ???

Great advise. We've decided for our build on the Circle D 3200. It lists for $1200. Anyone sell the Circle D C7 258mm Pro III 6L80E Torque Converter less than $1200?
